    Hi All, It's been a long wait, but I've finally fulfilled one of my lifelong dreams. I'm 54 yrs old, and I figured if I don't do this now, I might never do it.. I've been a member here for about 4 years, and have tried to learn as much as I can from all of you about the 308/328 models. Last fall I decided I was going to do this, and called my contractor to add another stall onto my current garage. Last Friday I purchased an 86 328GTS, and drove it the 70 or so miles to her new home.. The wife and I spent most of the day Saturday driving around getting sunburned, but I wouldn't trade the red face/arms for anything. I turn my own wrenches, and hope I can look forward to your help when I have a question or two.. Here's a pic of her, sitting in the still un-finished garage right where she belongs.. Life is good.......

    At the same age I did my purchase of my GT4, silver boxer. Anyways, haven't regretted it at all and especially like working on it as it is , pundits please control thyselves, just a big Fiat. It's relatively simple and easy to work on . Just twice the stuff. Enjoy it.

    Better be careful... She looks mighty lonely in that big empty space. Might call some of her friends ;)

    Congrats! You must be thrilled. I made the same bucket list check off just a few months ago with a Red 308 GTS QV. I followed a similar path, finding a wealth of advice on this site over the past several years which helped me to make an informed, if still emotional at the end of the day, purchase selection. Here's hoping for many years of enjoyment.

    Exactly. She will have a roommate before you know it. Just be sure they get along. I have a horse and a bull. I never know what I will find when I open that garage door- LOL

    Nice car and good going...never too late!

    I bought my 330 2+2 just after turning 53, anticipate being a Ferrari owner for the duration and leaving the last one to some deserving soul.

    Thanks for all the good wishes. The weather here is really starting to get nice, and we've really been enjoying the drive, even if it's only to the corner for some ice cream...
    I think I might be in trouble though... The wife wants me to teach her to drive stick.....!

    I've had mine for 6 years now and I still can remember my first drive bringing up from NC to it's home in PA! It was the best 500 miles of my life!

    Enjoy the summer and all the times you drive it. Good thing you are married because you won't get chicks gawking over it, just guys. LOL!
