Certainly will be one of the most spectacular 458 specs seen on Fchat. Cant wait to see real pictures
Well, Ferrari SpA cancelled my factory delivery. I was angry about it, make no mistake, but what can one do? The car was sent to Holland, and although it was late on arrival and I had no idea when it was going to arrive, she finally showed up on Thursday evening, and I went to see her Friday morning. All was well, she was exactly as ordered, and because some F-chatters wanted to see the car we organised a bit of an unveiling on Saturday at the Hilversum, Holland, dealership. It was the dealer where I used to look through the windows in the '70ies and '80ies, salivating over Ferraris, so I guess in many ways this was the perfect way to celebrate. The car is almost impossible to properly photograph, particularly in artificial light, but I hope you will get an impression of the way she looks. I've noticed that now I upload her photos on a different laptop, the colours look wrong again. Perhaps natural light will work better. Many, many people have commented that they were pretty sure it wasn't going to work in that combination, only to find that it actually did.... I am completely ecstatic about the car, and I have no idea on how I would improve on the specs. She is epic. Hope you like it - but if not, that's your problem. On the first drive, I am taking her to Italy, upcoming Wednesday. I'll post some pics of her in the Italian sun. What color is that interior? The red roof looks a lot better than the configurator. Is it a metallic red? How did you get those Carbon engine pieces? Is that the optional screens in the rear?
Picture quality is desapointing compared the stunning specs Right on my 458 top 3 build on Fchat. Please give it a real photoshooting.
Interior is black leather with bordeaux alcantara and rosso stitching. The red roof is Rosso Maranello, a three-layer paint. Only carbon piece on the engine is the headers, a regular option. Onno
Chiming in on the congrats - fine spec, Onno ! Somehow I think I MIGHT have contributed a bit to that interior color-choice... I am not a two-tone-guy, but the roof looks tasty in that darker metallic-red. Hoping to meet You in person one of those days when passing through my country. Guess our two black b*tches will get along quite well and why shouldn't WE ?!? Best, Ulli
Actually, you didn't. I had decided on that interior choice last July already. But your photos certainly made me happy with my choices! It would be great to meet - perhaps on the way back from Italy, next week - I should be driving through Germany on Tuesday 22nd. Onno
It is quite interesting to go back to the first post in this thread and see how the configurator shows the bordeaux alcantara. It looks nothing like the real thing! Onno
Couple more pics of Saturday courtesy of my friend Joost, give a slightly better impression. Picking up the car this afternoon and I will take some shots in sunlight. Driving to Italy tomorrow! First shots in the sunshine. I don't have time for this so this is all very quick, better shots will follow in Italy this week, no doubt. She's got 9 miles on the dial, we will make that 700 by tomorrow! Lighting is still somewhat weird, interior alcantara looks like red, not bordeaux in my screen. Looks wonderfully promising, anyway
I'm really impressed with the color combinations. This shows what great thought went into this build. The paints and the leather/alcantara specs = one of the top Fcars I've seen. (although the photos cannot approach the car in real life). Wonderful!
It doesn't look like bordeaux in real life, either (if, with bordeaux, you mean wine red). It is more of a pale red. The most recent photos give a decent impression of the colour in real life, IMHO. The red on the driver's seat in this pic, really gets close to what it looks like. It is called bordeaux but it isn't, really. Onno Image Unavailable, Please Login
congratulations-looks amazing.would love to see a pic side by side with your BB(and other Ferrari's!)
Spectacular. You've set a new standard, sir. I've seen some bold designs, but this manages to be bold and tasteful at the same time, which is no easy feat. Enjoy her, my friend.
Gorgeous. Really stunning. I'm sure some will copy that red top now -- but you were the original. It's difficult to be bold. When it pays off like this, it's all worth it.
