    Except the prius gets the same fuel consumption in the city too!

    The Prius itech is exceptionally well appointed for the price.

    Having said that, when I got a chance to buy one, I couldn't do it. Weird.

    Fair point. However even driving solely in the city her car returns figures in the very low 6's.

    Not quite Prius territory but the point is a modern turbo diesel is a remarkable thing.
