We're 20 seconds better than last year. The big German factories are making a HUGE effort. McLarens are fast but also edgy as one all ready crashed. We're 14 seconds off the Big factory cars but the qualifying shoot out tonight looks good so far as we'll be in it. The FIA has accepted our KERS entry at this race for their Alerternet energy world championship and if we finish within certain Parameters we could do well in that. Prototype simulator of P 4/5 C in our lounge. See FB for many photos Forza!!
Good luck for the qualifying today Jim! I'll drive to the Ring tomorrow morning around 4am hope to see you in the morning before the race. Martin
Qualify 2 P 4/5 21st @ 8:33.811 Only 6 seconds off of Pole & even ahead of a works Audi. Great stuff. The car is fast - here's hoping you guys don't get caught up in any trouble!
We just set a World Record For any Ferrari Powered Sports Car on "The Ring" 599fXx 6:58 P 4/5 CM. 6:51
Holy sh.....!!! Did you run her on full power without air restrictions during practice or before on a seperate run? And where can we find the onboard lap
That's in endurance tune on regular race tires not qualifying tires with HP restricted and full ballast 1350 KG
Massive congratulations, that's one he'll of an accomplishment. It's been said before, but thank you allowing us all to follow the progress of this project, it's really a lot of fun to play along. Mark
To be a scant 6sec off the factory boys in race trim is awesome, simply awesome! And, to have set a record at the 'Ring for a Ferrari powered car is an achievement unto itself. There's fast, there's Ferrari fast, then there's Scuderia Cameron Glckenhaus Fast! Roll that Torch! (2012 Edition, powered by KERS.) P4/5CM: it's not a Ferrari - it's faster!
That's crazy... big congrats to the whole team, well done! I really hope that you don't run in any major trouble this weekend and then a brilliant result is possible. Forza Glickenhaus
Wonderful result Jim - your team's massive effort deserves all the success it can find. I hope your reliability is stellar for the race and your pace takes care of the competition. Have fun!! >8^) ER
WOW! That's amazing. Just imagine what the time would have been without the engine breathing through a straw. All the best, Andrew.
Fantastic! The incredible strides you've made in just one year are amazing! If only there was going to be a third year to round out the trilogy....*crosses fingers*
+1 H-u-g-e congratulations to everyone involved! Will certainly be watching over the weekend. Best wishes, may she run long and hard! [We know it's all down to the stunning pinstripes of course - Must be worth ~30 seconds round there ] Cheers, Ian
Wow they raised your minimum weight up alot from last year... last I checked you had received the 40kg reduction and were racing at 1210 kg, have they atleast allowed you to take on more fuel as a result of the increased weight
Top40 Qualy starts in under 10min. can't wait . It will be live on Sport1 in germany. For a race live stream tomorrow check this site http://mikefrison.com/1592
Jalopnik just wrote an article about this! Congrats! http://jalopnik.com/5911503/the-p45-competizione-is-the-fastest-ferrari-ever-to-lap-the-ring
No confusion. 6:51 is for the old section of the Ring which is the course used for road car testing and is typically quoted in the magazines. A time here less than 8 minutes is considered fast... 6:51 is therefore exceptional. 8:32 is the time for the combined old section plus the new GP circuit lap.
Talking about different track layouts actually. 'The Ring' in Napolis' post refers to the Nordschleife (or North Loop) of the Nurburgring which is the one people are typically referencing when they talk about Ring times. It's part of the original section of track. The 24Hrs of Nurburgring race actually includes that plus the Grand Prix track as well which extends the lap quite a bit further (12.9 mi to 15.2 mi) resulting in the difference in times you see. There's a lot more detail on the N'Ring wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/N%C3%BCrburgring >8^) ER
