I've been looking at this site as well, I'm curious as to how much it costs and can anyone recommend this product?

    Or a sacrificial lamb? ;)

Installing an S/C on an 30 year old motor is certainly fun for the adventurous... However, without a rebuild first to meet the additional stresses I can't imagine that the engine will last very long.

Or, you can sell your Mondial 8 and buy a t... which has more hp than what the S/C will give you.

Compression is too high to run a decent amount of boost. Detonation is your enemy and will take out that motor in a heartbeat.

    Right on.

BUT, The only Mondial Motor to which I would add a Compressor,
is a USA Mondial QV, with the 308 QV USA Model Motore'.

Low Factory Compression for our crappy gas.
    and, Ceramic Topped Pistons.
    ;)

Oh, that's right,,, I had one of those.
    :)
    Sold it.

That might be true of these motors, but not true generally anymore.

Computers in cars and very good tuning allows "decent" boost and higher compression. On a different car, I have 11:1 CR and about 7-8 psi on a Vortech centrifugal blower.

    Regards,
    Jerry

Maybe 928 Motorsports has thought all of these potential objections through already. Might be nice to give them a call and see what their answers are for all the possible pitfalls.

Is this spam? Translated by Babelfish maybe? Can you explain where you're coming from? ;)

    Wow! That's some amazing prose!

I reported it... I think it is spam... some vendor of "electric superchargers" found this discussion via a search and sees it as an opportunity to sell some product.

Definitely looks like English as a second language... really quite an enjoyable read.

Without reading that whole thread, without owning an F-car, but having owned a couple of other cars with aftermarket supercharger kits, I'd offer the following comments:

    - tensioner - the kit looks to have a manual tensioner on the supercharger belt. That was ommon 5+ years ago, but most kits long ago switched to an automatic tensioner, often using a GM tensioner found in a lot of their production supercharger systems. No reason for a manual tensioner these days, and all the hassle of trying to keep the belt properly tensioned.

    - top mount with a flimsy brace to something bolted into the intake plenum? Maybe it's adequate, but not a design I'd inherently trust on an engine that spins to 7700 rpm - I'd be worried about the mounting plate suffering from resonance at some point in the rpm band.

    - I'm surprised they posted that particular dyno chart, as I hope it's not representative of the tuning of their kit - it goes too lean for boosted operations above 6500 rpm.

But really guys ............... does anyone in their right mind think that merely upping the narblium rate by 10 or even 15 factnums, this action would cause front tires to break loose on fresh pavement. Knowing merpalipiams as I do, I must say that somebody has a serious case of advanced kragots - which can only lead to reverse furlipians !!! Best move on !!

    Cheers, Hank

A friend of mine (no longer) fell for every single lie that our TURBO ENCABULATOR Snake Oil salesman told him. After 23 weeks in the shop, waiting for various parts to be delivered, the car finally left, only to have the turbo part of the encabulator, flat out MELT within 5 blocks. What a mess !!!

But our "professor" sure does talk the good talk :):)
