Just finished reading the bible... The photographs alone are worth the buying it for, but besides this, it is imo one of the best automotive books I have read! I really enjoyed the writing style & in depth information as well. Really glad to have it in my collection. I must say, it makes me yearn for a book on the Countach as well
I do have a question, & apologize if its been brought up before. I read that F. Lamborghini's birthday was April 25th, but I always thought it was the 28th? This jumped out at me since April 25th is my birthday! On another note, I have a newfound appreciation for ZN75. The special trim really does look fantastic! I know its been discussed here before, but yr book really showed it off quite well with excellent info about that special car, which I now think is (was?) thoroughly under appreciated. I could probably go on & on but for now, fantastic book. Not sure why I waited so long to get a copy
Thanks for that - I think 25th is a typo slated for correction in the upcoming new edition, 28th is correct of course. Yes I think the ZN75 was very special and I would have kept it that way. Thanks for sharing your thoughts...
This is a Greek tradition singer whose name is Dimitris Kokotas. The Miura is still in Greece, i made a lot of efforts to find and buy this car but i never made it... I believe that someone i used to know has infos about this car. I will try to communicate with him and sent here.. Best Greg
I talked to Tony a couple of months ago and at that time the car was already sold or at least promised to someone.
Oh, I didn't know that d1ablo. In Greece there are 3 or 4 Miuras without be sure.. I thought that this specific Miura is one of the 3-4 because one of them is the same colour as the car in the picture. Best
Anyone know Grace Bumbry? The Opera Superstar bought a new Miura, chassis number 3072, and drove it extensively. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Miura number 43 was built in July 1967 and delivered in Lugano. It was sent back to the factory and re-built as number 272 in December of the next year. Featured in the November 1967 edition of German magazine Hobby. "The sound of the Miura is like music to my ears" the Opera Star says in the interview... Image Unavailable, Please Login
Reportedly features the car being collected from the factory. Adjusting carbs already? Image Unavailable, Please Login
Why was it rebuilt so soon and then with a different number, Joe? Was the car still owned by Grace Bumbry when the car was rebuilt?
As far as I remember the article, they picked the car at the factory when it was produced and exported it with the shown ee plates. I think the editor was the boyfriend of her.
Yes indeed, and re-delivered back to her in Lugano. My thinking is she had an "off" and had the car re-built.
Thanks, Joe. http://www.themiuraregister.com/miura/register.php?id=43 It says in the above link that Robert Kennedy owned a Miura?
