    I am selling my 2007 599 GTB. I am in the process of buying a 1998 550M.
I like my 599 GTB Since ownership of the car I have had zero issues with the car. My car is the gated shift gate. For the moment my funds are tight. I can sell my 599 GTB. Pay off the lease company and buy the 550M not worry about monthly payments.

When my financial situation changes I will keep a eye out for a 2010 599 GTB. I will place pictures of my 599 GTB soon. I have a lot of extra equipment on this car.

Good move. No point in having a car that makes your finances tight.

Agreed. Just did the same thing. No stress yet, but clouds on the horizon so deleveraging a bit, as some here might put it. Went from a 430 spider to Corvette coupe. Will return to Fcars when the storm clouds pass.

So do you miss your Spider? I have seen your car numerous times in the area these past few weeks and it now has black wheels. I suppose Jarrod (friend of mine) is enjoying it and trying to give it exposure....

It is always a tough call to make these decisions. I had to sell a Porsche Turbo when I started my business and I still miss that car.

Anyhow, the 550M is a great car and I'm sure you will get back into a 599 in the future.

Honestly not so much. There were multiple reasons I let her go. The reason I'm out of Ferrari's for a while is partly financial and partly political, was causing me issues around the clubhouse and with wife's friends' husbands. But I'd be out of that car regardless. I had a sickness as a child, collecting, was never happy with any one thing, had to have them all. I was having a relapse with Ferrari's. I didn't want one car, but wanted to sample them all. I had two good deals from FOW to trade it on either a Cali or 599, and realized I'd simply lost it. So I was ready to give that car up regardless. I'm glad Jarrod's enjoying it. It's a pretty perfect example. I've always loved Corvettes and am looking forward to taking delivery of my supercharged '12 GS in a couple weeks.

Well, wanting more than one ferrari doesn't sound like that bad of an illness ;) j/k

I kinda know what you mean though. I once bought CDs/LPs weekly, sometimes daily. Then one day it hit me. WTF Am I doing? I Never listen to any of these anyway?!?!?!

Now I only buy from a selected few artists and then randomly if there is anything REALLY good out there I want.

other than that I hear music on the radio.

Sometimes "we" need to take a break, so I get it. I used to be really bad flipping cars. I used to go through cars every six months or so. As you know, with sales tax, property tax, depreciation I was losing a lot of money though I always tried to justify that I didnt. Anyhow, I have come along way and learned to enjoy what I have and not always look for what I dont have to be happy. I currently am blessed to have a nice line up of cars which I plan to keep for awhile. Besides, my wife has talked some sense into me, when I was single it was spend spend spend, she keeps me in check :)

Im sure you will have a ball in the GS Corvette. Perhaps in time you will be in another Fcar but it sounds like you are need of a break, which we all need sometimes. Best of luck, and dont leave Fchat, we all enjoy your posts here.

I don't think you could get rid of me if you tried. Lots of great people here. I'm still on the list for a 458 spider in a year and a half to two years. FOW is holding out hope they can put me in a 599 before that. I'm still very much in the middle of this, not to mention I'm hosting a Ferrari gathering for a golf tournament in less than a week. Quite involved, friends, etc. I'm not going anywhere. I'm just being prudent and breaking the cycle as you seem to have. I was flipping every nine months instead of six. Pretty damn bad, and yes, horribly expensive. Sinfully so.

So what do you think the net effect will really be to your lifestyle and driving habits? Seems to me, going back to a stick and still having at awesome V12, that you're just getting another great Ferrari experience. You may not run out of road quite as fast, but still a Ferrari. I'm a little jealous there. I don't drive sticks, but if I did, I'd love to be in a 550. I love the look. I need to ask Toggie for a ride in his sometime. It's gorgeous.

What do you like about the 2010 over the 2007, besides warranty? Is it because you can upgrade to HGTE?
