"Across Italy police are cracking down on Ferrari and Lamborghini drivers, but not because they are driving too fast. Italy, like so much of southern Europe, is drowning in debt, so police are pursuing drivers to make sure they are declaring – and therefore paying taxes on – earnings that would allow them to afford cars worth as much as half a million dollars."

In L-chat because I believe there maybe a few owners in Itlay.
That they may want to chime in about the discrimination of being a Lamborghini owner.

But, hey, remove if you guys feel I posted something irrelevant.

I think because they are after any "high profile" exotic, including Lamborghini as this paragraph states:

"A widely reported tax blitz in January on Cortina D'Ampezzo, the winter playground for the rich and famous, received widespread support from Italians. Tax authorities looked into the owners of 133 Lamborghinis, Ferraris, and other luxury cars and found nearly a third of the owners declared incomes of less than $30,000 per year – a laughable amount, considering not only the cost of their cars but the $8.95/gallon cost of gasoline. "

Well, like I said, I'm not complaining, but the article was clearly about Ferraris and Lambos were second billing. I'm not a mod, I can't do anything and if it stays here, no sweat to me. Just wondered why it wasn't in the Europe or general discussion.

It's already a thread in the subscribed section.

But this really is an old news story.

The last time around was maybe 4-6 months ago?

Before that it goes all the way back to just after the world's oldest profession began.

The world's second oldest profession? Tax Collector.

    Both involve screw jobs.

No, countries screw themselves by promising too much stuff to too many people that they can't pay for. The people create the wealth, the government must then confiscate it.

It's really nice of the government to "allow" us to keep as much of OUR OWN EARNED MONEY as they do. I see zero problem with the successful not wanting to be punished for their success.
