Actually I watched it go through then by the time I logged in to post I forgot the exact number after trying to figure out buyers fees and converting to dollars. It was either 140k US or 150k US a real strong number.

Then looking at the Bonhams car at less than half the price.

It seems a price tag well within the realm of reality as things seem to be going these days. And as soon as you say "Monaco" I suppose that adds 50%. So it's conceivable then that this is only a mediocre car. Post some photos or other info if you can.

While at the Grimaldi Form in Monaco I took some photos, and had a good look at the Ghibli No. 518 which was a very early car in cosmetically good condition with a very nice paint job and a well done correct red leather interior.
The engine looked to be very correct with the exception of the cold air box hose.
No way to know how it drives. I is equipped with mags. I don't recall if they were K/O mags or 4 bolt.
A European Ghibli with matching engine number which sold well.

if it had been a genuine European SS with wires and good history, IMHO it would have hit $200,000.
Off to Turin in 1 hour by car.
    Ciao,

Good car (even if bying at auction is always a risk) - good price.
It reflects what I said about Ghibli prices recently: good cars are very, very difficult to find - and they get their prices.
