    SA Apertas were supposed to be made in both LHD and RHD from the very beginning like every other 599 versions.

    EVO is absolutely not correct about both LHD-only and delivery numbers to Europe and UK. Until 30th of september there are 6 Apertas registred in Switzerland alone, 8 in Germany, at least 4 in Italy, 2 in Sweden, some cars in France, at least few in Belgium and Netherlands, one already in Monaco with more incoming and deliveries are not finished. And UK is also getting more than 5 cars, 5 RHD Apertas are coming to the HR Owen only. 20 cars were allocated to the largest market - to the US, don't know about other markets.

    Because of the cost of R&D (Research and Development) to have a chassis which structure can handle torsion that are usually handled by the roof of the coupé...

    ... and also because it's a limited edition...

    ... oh, and also because it's a Ferrari ;)

    I know you're very "in the know", M, because I've seen and have actually learnt alot from your various posts here and there, but just in case you didn't know. In the lastest Forza magazine (with the SuperAmerica 45 on the front), it's mentioned that Ferrari "just recently made available an optional, carbon fiber Hard top for the SA Aperta's". So from the looks of it, though it's hard to tell, that Giallo Aperta must be one of the first one's with the hard top. Nice to have cause as you know, the soft top really limits your speed. Would die to see one, still haven't yet!

    In Forza, I thought he (Andrew Frankl) mentioned the soft-top limited speeds to 75mph, but being they didn't have the hard-top, he never mentioned the "speed limit" for the hard-top option. How did you know the "hard-top limit"? Do you know when they made the "hard top" available as an option?

    I would've thought the "speed limit" would be way higher than that, being it's a "true" hard-top or at least that's what I thought. As I mentioned, I can't wait to see the "hard-top" on an SA Aperta, especially in person.

    Have seen One Hard top. Do not VIN of vehicle right now but provided in thread priot to this prior. SA Aperta seen at Cavallino. Car left italy via Air mid December 2011.

    sorry i haven't posted photos yet. trying to figure out how to upload them. Mine has a hard top that was ordered with the car but only arrived last month. No warning label affixed and the dealer isn't sure what the upper MPH threshold is.

    I have pictures of both the Hard top and Soft top Speed limit warning labels that are affixed to the inside of each top. Unable to post can I E-mail to some one more computer savy to post? thank you.
