Does anyone know the correct model/s of Ferrari this jack is from?

Also the same question for the brown leather bag?

It wouldn't surprise me if they are for two different types of Ferrari.

    Cheers,

    David

Thanks for that, I've done a bit of googling and yes the jack appears to be 308.

Any ideas on the bag? I dont think it's a 308 one, it's more rigid than the 'floppier' tool roll of my Daytona but made of the same type of brown leather.

I'm sure I saw the bag on Ebay recently as one for a 512BBi - it also looks like that of a late 70s V12 I think

Hi David...... Cant see the picture of the Brown bag you mention but the Black 'Jacking' bag pre dates any 308. It would have been supplied with a late Daytona, 365 GTC/4, 365 GT4 2+2 and 365 Boxer. You can tell by the flat base of the actual jack which is larger on these car's kits than the later 8 cylinder cars. Also the bag is overall larger and the leather straps are far better quality than the later cars. If you look at a 308/328 jacking bag it is thinner and the leather straps are of a poorer quality and are a lighter colour. What you have is far more valuable than the later items but you are missing the warning triangle, wheel chock and lead hammer paul

    Thanks for that Paul,

The separate jack and bag pictured above are superfluous as I have the correct tool roll for my 1970 Daytona. The roll includes the longer base jack you mention which lives in the pocket attached to the tool roll itself. I have included a pic for comparison of the two jacks here, the one on the left is from my Daytona and the mystery jack is on the right.

Once I establish what model/s of Ferrari the superfluous bag and jack are from (and their value) I will sell them on.

I know later Daytona's have an attache-case tool kit and a seperate jack & bag rather than a tool roll that also holds the jack.

The bag in my photo is actually brown (I've uploaded another pic that might show up better) and as you also point out, is made from a heavier guage/higher quality leather than a 308/328 bag (I had a 328 for reference) plus the straps are heavier duty too.

So did the later Daytona's have a different jack design like the mystery jack on the right?

What I may have in that case is a separate jack bag and jack from a later Daytona?

    Any thoughts?

    David

It's a late Daytona bag and it should measure 50 cm in lenght.

The bag, jack and ratchet handle could be from a 330/365 GTC, some of which I've seen had separate jack and tool bags. But I think these models used the shorter speed extension, not the longer one shown on the right.

That's interesting, yes the shorter speed attachment on the left is from my Daytona kit.

So it seems that the jack bag is a late Daytona item and the jack on the right (with the longer attachment) could be 330/365 GTC?

The Bag appears identical to that of a 365 GT 2+2 and the right jack is probably from one also but not the wrench and the other piece shown.

Im pretty sure that the bag is late Daytona and probably 365 GT 2+2 too. Still not sure about the jack, anyone recognise it?

David.......365 GT 2+2 's ( i.e Queen Marys) had the same tool bags as the 330 GTC/S & 365 GTC/S....Two smaller tan rather than Bown bags. The bag is definitely a late Daytona. 365 GTC/4 or 365 GT4 2+2 ( 400 shape) 365 Boxer also. I still say the jack is of the same period........Early 1970's 12 cylinder cars had the bigger base and longer jacking mount whereas the later cars had the bigger base and shorter jacking mount.......by the time you come to the say 328 both the base and jacking point are smaller......... I have had 308's with both sizes oif base but always with the smaller jacking point. Paul

    Thanks Paul,

I know you know your stuff when it comes to this kind of thing. I did acquire the bag and jack together (at the same time) so yes I think they are from an early 70's V12, Daytona, 365 GTC/4 or 365 GT/4 2+2.

What kind of value do they have do you think?

    David

Sadly I'm a bit of an anorak when it comes to tool kits......... I'm not bidding but you should be able to get 2K for them.........Find someone who desperately needs and you might improve a bit on that..........
