Steering rack.. Serviceable?

    Is the steering unit (rack) serviceable? I've been told by a reputable parts shop that it's not. That you can't drain .. or add oil.. And therefore, it can just be replaced.. ?

    Seems absurd.. BUT, lemme know.. ?

    Well, it grease, not "oil"....

    Definately 'rebuildable' in my cars....

    It's a plastic bushing in it (on one end) that shatters, they make a new one with brass and fit new seals and rubber mounts for the outer housing, there are rebuild threads showing the process.

    Maybe someone can recommend a shop to rebuild it for you, and send it back for installation??
