    Bikz. Thanks for the update!

Luckily I didn't win, prefer to have cash in pocket & go for small digits. The prices are absurd for some, far higher than even Singapore's or even UK.

IMHO, only single digits will look nice cos the alphabet W is very wide & when you have WWW not much space left.

Bro, think I can only afford to enter a Civic :D in Merdeka cup. Those trofeo, carrera & challenge are for the super deep pockets.

Besides, with 1.3m, we can buy proper FIA/CSI licensed heritage racing cars with spare change to enter LeMans Classic or even Monaco GP historic then sell the car for the same money!

Not necessary have to go through Chin. I do know a few people that deal with the Super GT parade participation, but not personally. If you need their contacts, feel free to PM.

WWW333 triplets is very nice, would like to have that too but guess it would go overboard which it did!

Anyway, #3 means "growth" while #9 is "longevity" & very popular with Thai & Jap too.

Just hope won't waste half a day getting in & out like we did in Putra last week. Not sure if I'll be in KL that weekend but will buzz you should I get a chance to swing by. Thanks!

Me too but after a few years ^^ & good nos have value so you can re-sell it later on especially vintage nos. Saw "M5" on a BMW 5 series, "W2" on a Merc few months ago & "C9" on a classic 280SE3.5 recently. These nos must worth a lot.

hi uncle jeeva (haha hope you don't mind me calling you that in public!),

been meaning to get over to ure place but my car is at the service centre and its gone in once again for a seal that wasn't fit properly resulting in another engine out! we'll all definitely meet up soon....and yes, the 348 in recent times has gotten brilliant reviews and makes LDM look like an over inflated idiot! he needed glory...thats all....i almost got the 355 (even considered your ex-spyder which is still arnd), then luckily test drove the 348 and immediately changed my mind! do u know of a guy near my place with a 550/575? i just happened to pass his house recently and saw it in the garage...was covered so i'm not exactly sure what it is but most def a 550 i think.

It is indeed quite a unfairly reviewed car but well, all owners will dispute that :D It was my 1st Ferrari! That said, my was really an old dog & I had to push start it twice in public & so many other issues that I thought there's a ghost in it cos you never know when it'll break down. Still I had it for 2yrs & spent over RM100K to fix it in Singapore.

About the steering feel? Yes, 100% agree. I tried 355s back then & they felt disconnected while the 348 has a deliciously good feel which is almost impossible to find now due to the softened power steering. The only issue is the front lip, it's one of the lowest in the family & cracks once you hit it :( Other issues are the aircon & electrics....

The 355 tickles me now but that expensive maintenance is a damper. How much are they going for these days? Saw that JT has quite a few examples for sale.

I would assume yours was a pre 93 with that awful OEM alternator.....that was sorted out in the GTB(S)(spyders) post 92 i think.....so if one gets a TB(S) make sure the alternator is changed or if not get it changed....i think it was designed to recharge AA batteries! well the thing with the a/c and electricals is, if the car is a runner, they hv less quirks.....make it sleep and they all sleep for good!!!

355s hv hit a price of arnd RM270.....very hard to find mint conditions though but i know of one pristine spydy with a handful of mods, upgraded chips + Capristo Stage 3 at JT (hint hint!)....there are a few others there as well.... with price starting at about RM280k the last i checked.....

Well, it's a 90 IIRC berilinetta with factory challenge upgrades. I actually changed & upgraded the alternator two times! Something to do with wiring & even remembered it sometimes work with a hard knock using a mallet! :D Think there was also a hot start issue but guess what? There was once where the gearshift lever actually broke! Limped home in 2nd gear.

Heard 360s are below Rm400K now but the problem is finding good examples as we don't know how many were crashed or poorly maintained. Oh dear, I start recalling all the little problems with 90s Ferraris..... corroding C pillar, failed ECUs, bushes, steering rack, waterpumps etc.

There's quite a handful of owners that actually take the time to go over to Singapore to service and fix their cars. Is the quality of service actually that much better as compared to what we get over here? Just a thought.

Well, it's the level of professionalism & ease of getting parts. You can order parts online & have them shipped here within a week then just pay 7% gst but Malaysia?!

Recently, I had to pay RM300 @ customs on two wheel bearings worth US$80 each  Same for tires, many guys here just drive to Singapore to fit & come back.

True; in terms of the tax charged.

I was asking about the cost of shipping a Premier 4509 kit to Singapore/Malaysia. The difference in price gave me a shock!

They have to under-declare it esp for exhaust. I've asked for some branded exhausts & they're quite on par so really depends on your agent.

wa! that's rm50k/yr, included major (timing belt/water pump) job? how much it cost to do a major for 328 and 348 in Malaysia/Singapore? Searched here but couldn't find the info. In US is usd6k every 30000miles or 5years..

actually its every 30k km or 3yrs from the latest notice from Ferrari but i think 5yrs ought to be good..

the cost for the 348/355 is about RM3.5k-RM4.5k labour and parts for basic major (what an oxymoron!) is about RM 3k-4k.....but then again a major for one car varies to another because once the engine's out, whatever needs to be changed better be changed!

A lot of things were changed. Including air-con condensor which we used Japanese cos a factory unit which they will only sell the complete set was about US$15K?! Yikes.

I can't remember but in Sgp, a regular engine out belt job should be about S$7~8K (Rm20K) including parts & much cheaper if just belts, bearings & oil change it can be a lot cheaper. Some of the parts are actually cheap & same as other makes, they just repack & bill you 100% more but it's the expertise in doing the job.

Eg. In UK, you can do a clutch job for the V12 Lambos which require an engine out job, all for just 3K+/- pounds but it's a freaking S$17K+ (RM42K) in Sgp & only slightly cheaper with KL's agent. It's probably cheaper to ship the car to UK & back!

so cost for 348's major starts from rm8k to rm20k.. for 5 years ownership, total mileage 30k km, major done on the 5th year, do you think maintenance budget of rm50k is sufficient?

I saw JT web has a 308GT4 & Mondial QV.. both same price 145k.. a bit higher than market but i heard JT has very good reputation for used exotics.. if it's 308QV/328, I'll go there have a look :)

Dr Jeeva, I think we met before when you were driving Fiat Coupe few years ago, I was with my Alfa GTV.. Sold your coupe?

Just bought the mag.. nice read.. 328 not inside, haiya..
