Wheels stick out too far. All of the cars from that era had the wheels tucked in an inch or two, not sticking out. Ruins the look imo.

    couldn't find a price listed :gulp: :D

the tyres do come out a bit much, the donor vantage track width will be much more than the zagato bodywork extended ....they could have tucked them in just a tad more IMO

    still, the looks of a db4 zagato, with a vantage v12 engine + manual trans = :) :) :) :)

Considering that the DB7 is already mostly a rebodied Jaguar XJS, changing the look again doesn't bother me.

true, it is, save the engine & trans, the basic chassis + suspensions are evolved of the xjs (i still miss mine :( )

these are essentially rebodies IMO, some might phrase differently, but that's of no matter, is a beautiful design :D

The more I look at it, the more I like it.

I do wish they had taken the time to re-work the interior.
To keep the modern instrument pod and steering wheel kills the whole "retro" theme to me.
I'm sure that given enough resources and time, this could be done, but to do so from the outset would have been better, IMHO.

With DB-7s sinking in value, this would be a great way to enjoy a unique, 4-place car on a relatively reliable platform.

It has it's nits to pick, but this concept is far better executed than the 50s and 60s-style re-bodies of modern Corvettes.

Gorgeous. The wheels sticking out a bit may not be correct, but as long as they are not too thin, they give the car a nice wide stance and a beefy look. I think they work well.

Nostalgia is great, but a lot of vintage stuff is hard to live with. This is a great blend of old looks with modern conveniences.

Like a bulldog, that's part of the appeal. :) Besides, the flanks and rear aren't ugly. The front is, but I like it ok. The 250 swb was much prettier. Agree?

So, if one would go to lenght and sent them a Jaguar XJS instead of Aston, it isnt anything "real" in first place so would it ruin the experience..

I love the DB4Z but this one really looks like a kit. The wheels stand out too much, the rear is too cramped etc..I also think the SWB is prettier but then it's also prettier than almost anything on earth!

LOL they wouldn't 'take' an xjs likely ...i'm glad they didn't "interpret" the body work but took molds from the real car ....the db4z looks with a new(ish) aston v12 is ubber appealing

agreed the interior could be better, and do something about the wheels, it would be a sweet ride :)

    original db4z vs evanta

    I still like it.

You can have one built on one of their ladder-style chassis, with a choice of engine and bodywork (GRP, Kevlar or Aluminum) and it will look much more correct with period-style guages, etc.

For the same money, this is what I would likely elect, as you can still have the V-12 with manual transmission.

Although, a properly tuned Aston I-6 would be fantastic!!

Pricey, but I like it. I also get that its looks may not be everyones cup of tea.

I like the new trend of old design with modern bits (like the perfected Stinger 911). I hope, some day in the distant future, someone will make an F355 Spider with bits from the F430 Spider - I would almost sell my house for a car like that...

I would suspect that you could retro-fit a 430 driveline and brakes to your 355 for far less than $180,000.00

    That would be cool!!

Yes, I'm mostly thinking about the engine (would lose that famous 355 scream though) and the more reliable mechanics of the F430 soft top. With breaks and the 2008+ F430 F1 gearbox, it would make such a perfect Ferrari (IMO of course).

all they really need to do is widen the body 4'' and the tires would fit under the flat orginal looking body
