Agree with the above. With just a simple remap (ie: COBB), GTR can easily pass the 500 mark. MP, GTR is no where near the GTO. But you already know that
oh oh....u feeling a little soft MP ? Not too sure how you and Harold have been comparing Hardness..haha.. ok ok... I meant hard street use. Our local roads with stop go traffic and occasional stomp down accelerations can be pretty hard on gearboxes. No track for my car yet. I read that the 2012 GTR has same numbers up to 200kph as LP700. Pretty impressive comparing their cost. And the 2 extra seats in the back do come in very handy.
Sadly, there's two things that are lack in the GTR. 1. Stock exhaust lack of drama 2. In F-car, every shift will throw the driver/passenger out of the seat and push them back right in. GTR doesn't. Lack of drama (again!)
Haha I've only had to flat bed the cars back to Singapore twice. Yours just go into limp mode cos u do a couple less laps than me. Coupe1, I sourced a ton of second hand parts to stuff on my GTR hence the huge savings. That's what I love about the GTR... Absolute liquidity of the market place for parts and cars. And the relative cheapness.
Harold, did we see right? That means S$100K for less than 200Hp increment? Which is 40% increase in Hp over stock. Wonder if anyone has actually put a manual gearbox into this version, reducing weight dramatically, more reliable but slower changes. Oh wait or was it S$15K that you spent?
That is very impressive but 1/2 a million. Oh... Saw quite a few GTRs in KL & almost all are on stock. Wonder how does the 458 compare with the similar gearbox. Mate, want to get one to play? This is one car that I'm always on the fence.
Oh darn, it has to be grey & red again! Beautiful isn't it. People seems to have forgotten the SLS by now.
Jon, for almost half a mil...I wouldnt buy a new 2012 GTR. But a 2008/9 model with low miles at 200k is 95% identical in specs. Slap on the mods and you are good to go. Most of the reputable mods for GTR are very reliable and well engineered. And I just read that the OEM gearbox is good for up to 700hp. The car was built to handle much more easily. Harold will probably know if its true. Dang! sounds like I am talking myself into a power hike very soon
Ok. I got to ask this. The poll above. About ending the thread. Why? and when? Must be a pretty funny story behind it.
Bro, the thing is the price for used ones have stucked @ $200K buffer for few years & as they get older+more owners=wear & tear. Still rem that my friend bought a brand new PI @ $200K from a dealer who went bust during 09 crisis. 2 things I don't like about it, common & bulky but it is one car that I need. Damn, let's see what I can trade for one.
Okay, I'll make you a deal: you buy and I'll be the 'pei sei' driver for you during the daytime and then bring the car back to you for the nights / weekend fun? Can?
