Ghibli pricing

I think $100K should get you an almost perfect Ghibli. More only for a 4.9, special options, etc. Call Ivan, at thecarnut.com as he is the most in tune with pricing. He is on here a lot too, so maybe he can chine in. Proper wheels/tires will set you back almost 10K also.

 

We had this in the last three months or so over and over: restored and correct Ghiblis are way north of 100k. IF you find any...

Well, I think your market view reg. value is...outdated! Perfect cars are clearly north of $$100k.

 

I agree.

As we saw with the recent RM auction, a good non-power steering 4.7 liter Ghibli can bring $150K+ USD. I would personally get a later car with the single spark plug holes and power steering. Either 4.7 or 4.9 engine is fine.

Make sure all the bit and pieces are correct as fixing past mistakes is a pain.

I do not know this 67 Ghibli therefore I am the last person to comment on the price. Perhaps you are correct that it is overpriced at $102,500. I like the way the very early Ghiblis look but I dislike the way they drive. I would pay a premium for a later car with power steering. Please no hate mail from early Ghibli owners

Also I have seen many cars with piles of receipts that I did not think were that true to the original. They looked nice but not correct. I would rather have a good honest Ghibli that has been maintained but not completely redone.

Ghibli values began to climb with the sale of the of SS Spyder #1259 at Gooding in AZ in Jan. 2012 for 880k. They have also been helped by the fact that Ferrari Daytonas which had been flat for a couple of years have been rising bring the Ghibli up with them.

However, at the same time where Lamborghini GT cars had been hot, they have not gone flat.

 

Ivan, what do you know about this car? Gooding sold this at their Scottsdale auction this year. Did Elvis own a Ghibli because this seems off the charts?

Actually, Ghibli values as with most Maserati GT cars, have been climbing for years. And rightly so.

 

I have a Ghibli ss coupe for sale.5sp,power steering,mag wheels,It needs total restoration.Asking $39k obo.it's currently apart/ basket case.99% complete,missing front windshield and windshield trim but I have qport 1 trim that can be retrofitted.
It has rust in the rockers and floors.Ca titled and registered in my name. Looking for someone who has too much time on their hands.

The car was much discussed earlier. Its a very rare Ghibli-Spyder 4.9 with EU-specs. and in outstanding condition. So the fetched price was well deserved.

I only know one Spyder 4.9 (also EU-specs.) that is of the same quality.

Congratulations Steve. I think you have bought well. The pictures on Ivan's site looked very nice and I'm sure you will enjoy the car greatly. By the way, thinning hair or no, EVERYONE should have quad tailpipes IMHO!!

Congrats --- Wonderful car and you bought from the right person! I would love to get one. Maybe if I sell my 3 Quattroportes I could get one Ghibli (plus cash of course). Question which Maserati can I take my wife and daughter in and still pick up my parents at the airport? So the answer is to sell 2 and use more cash! Anyway, let us see some pictures.

 

Just how DOES one embark upon a restoration project for a wife?

I'm not sure a basket case is the best choice in that situation even if the entrance fee is low ... With wives it's exit fee you have to worry about.

Always get the best original condition example you can afford ...

Any custom modifications are to be eschewed ...

No doubt Walter will insist upon the Euro spec version and object to those with the big American rubber bumpers ...
