There was a white LP670/4SV with big wing @ eurobay the other day. The Evo7/8/9? next to it at the lights wanted a go but the Lambo wasn't interested. Does look good in white
http://www.pickles.com.au/damaged/item/-/details/Circa-11--Lamborghini--Gallardo--L140-MY11-LP550-2-E-Gear-RWD--Coupe/970078430 Anyone know what happened? Damage looks very light from the images!
Front sub frame is bent both sides, you can see the kinks in the photos. May have done more damage further in that you can't see.

Good spot! Would hate to see what the parts cost here, but if they were to be sourced from the states where these cars are everywhere, i think they could get it on the road a bit cheaper! And yeah, the images are very deceptive. Pap, some people do get caught in the auction atmosphere and bid way too much for cars. See it every week! This car sold for $161,000 + Crazy auction fees..which works out to be a grand total : $175,289 :O Cheapest car that year on carsales is 370K driveway, with 1500km on the clock. Perhaps this guy got a bad deal.
Don't reckon you would get much change out of 100k to fix that correctly, the whole front subframe would have to be cut off and replaced to make it as new, subframe alone is between 15 and 20k.
Insurance co's write off cars for a reason... In NSW written off cars go onto a register, so future buyers can tell if they are buying a repaired car. Usual scenario for these things is they go to a dodgy-brothers repairer, who does a cheap&nasty repair then it turns up as a "bargain" on carsales.com 6 months later. Gay-lardo's are an aluminium chassis, quite specialised work to cut and re-weld.
Hi mate, yeah. That's what I was implying, people get too excited and pay WAY too much. $100K would be right, by the time you factor in the parts and the BIG labour cost. Not worth it, unless you pick it up for $50K................and we all know that's not gunna happen. Yep. That's good, do they have the same register in QLD?? I have been meaning to ask my panel beater mates if they know of this. Yep. And yep.
strip it out, put a roll cage in, new subframe with sway wide track, super trofeo kit, got yourself a cheap track/targa car
We have an inspection system down here where if you buy a write off and repair it the car must go to a licensed inspector before reg, would be a good thing if some of the inspectors knew what they were looking at, most of them are mechanics that would'nt have a clue about structural repairs to a Prius let alone an alloy exotic.
Don't be silly there Brett! that comment was the Aussie in me. Under my chinaman influence, i would have gone to the auction, kick a few more dints, buy it for a bargain, patch it with a few welds (imported labor on tourist visa), change the title to VIC, sell it as a one-lady owned, never damaged, weekend city hermas shopping used only LP550-2 SV Edition, for only $399k

Kind of interesting, the "Twiggy Miura" has generally referred to the Miura owned by Twiggy's manager and to my knowledge remains in the UK.
I wonder who the Auction House is, as I know that James has been (or still is) with Sothebys as there is no mention of them on the Motorclassica site?
