I was watching the Formula Renault 3.5 race with my daughter on the screen above the car data screen when someone said "pardon me", I turned around and it was Michael Schumacher who gave me a welcoming hello and a big smile. He then went around the car and in the back of the garage. A few minutes later he walked by me and gave a nod and walked out.
I was there for the Formula Renault 3.5 race before the F1 race. The team I was with was assigned the pit area in front of MB and you are allowed access to the garage. My pass ended at noon before the F1 race starts.
So you can buy pit passes for the support races that have pit areas right by the F1 garages? Why doesn't everyone do that? Cool to see the garages up close. I was fortunate enough to be shown around the Ferrari garage prior to the 2005 USGP by Chris Dyer while the Porsche Supercup race was going on. Unfortunately MS did not make an appearance during our time down there.
