Alberto I cannot make a claim for Bradan but we had our cams done at Web Camshafts www.webcamshafts.com Their service was excellent and the price reasonable. EVERY engine builder we spoke to told me that they only send their cams there. When we got them back we knew exactly why. They looked new.

Webcams does decent hardwelding work with cam lobes, but one thing to remember with hardwelding is that the lobe WILL have hot spots and may wear in a non-uniform way. I've now seen one Ferrari performance cam grind go south from them. Granted this does not happen often as I've only seen it happen once now, but webcams did not stand by their product when it happened. That said, 1 cam issue over the countless other hundreds they've done ain't bad.

Another option for Dino cams or any of the 2v Ferrari engines of the late 60s and 70s is Cat Cams in Belgium. They made me a new set of modern design cams with 10.75mm lift and 248 dur @ .050 cams for a very reasonable price and are of stellar quality. Outstanding performance. Not hard welded which is what I was trying to avoid.

Everyone has issues including us from time to time. I'm sorry your experience was poor and I would never use them again in your situation.

Piper cams is another good source if you are looking to have new cams made from scratch.

Right now is a really exciting time for us on this project. We reached the halfway point and get to start assembling as parts come in.

Webcams are fantastic 99% of the time. That was just a rare one-off situation where they would not stand by their work. I would definitely use them again though. But given the choice, for the small premium over Webcams cost I would have a set of new cams fabbed up. Just my 2 Sheckles

Wow! The highest compliment I can give is to say: Looks like the kind of resto a very talented and with plenty of resouces owner would do on ther own car.

How do you treat magnesium? Wheels, cam covers etc. Do you use traditional DOW-17 or one of the newer technologies.

Also thanks for posting, it's going to be beautiful!

    Look clean, impressive.
    Top Notch work!

Would you consider or recommend any coatings to reduce wear, perhaps Molybdenum disulfide, on the buckets or springs?

Any figures on graphs available on the shocks?
Here is what I found on mine and it would be helpfule to see how other original shocks net out at.
BTW - I found that Rutlands NOS shocks don't have the exact rebound/attack that mine (dated 1972 on outside) have:

    Guys,

I have been following your thread with interest and not a little bit of envy. Given the obvious challenges you've faced at various stages of the project, you're making remarkably fast progress (believe me I know how hard it is) while the quality and attention to detail at every stage is first rate.

Good luck on the rest of the project. The lucky owner will have a world class Dino when you're done.

    Best Regards,
    Paul

For a car that was started in November AND with the obvious challenges evident in the photos, the rate of progress is fantastic.

    Hello Brandon,

no chrome on the lid of the air intake box....
it should be black, like the hole box.

    Regards Matthias
