Hello everybody, I know I did not post pictures of my car yet, but I am attempting to make some changes and want to post pics only when everything is changed :)

Yet, I have changed my leather center console with a Scuderia 16M carbon fiber one and everything worked out fine and looks amazing, BUT, and it's a big but, the F1 control dashboard does not fit into the Scuderia carbon fiber console :-(

I think that I will have to buy a Scuderia F1 Control Dashboard but the F430 has 3 separate cables connected each to a single button ( R, LC and AUTO) meanwhile the Scuderia F1 Gearbox control unit has a single cable/connctor that sorts from all 3 buttons :-(

Anyone who has done this before and has had the same problem?Thank you :)

Ferrari changed the layout of the construction after 2005 or 2006.

The newer F1 consoles have only a slim top and nothing else!

    The problem ist the cables!

The newer consoles have fix cables at the buttons and only 1 system link.

You have 3 links at the button and fix cables going through the cable tree.

Perhaps you can adapt a new console to your cable tree.

I hev been watching on some pics and I have seen that the newer F1 control version has got a single plug, mine has 3 :-( therefore I assume I will have to call my Ferrari dealer and ask him how can I sort this out...I even tried cutting the black plastic but does not fit inside...:-(

Cut the carbon fibre? Sounds risky but if the face plate of the f1 unit is larger than it's base you should be able to hide the cut edges.

I think there are 2 options: either remove the 2 metal holders on the carbon fiber console (where the screws fix in) but there is a high danger of breaking the CF console and moreover the F1 console could never ever be screwed down, or cut the entire black plastic structure underneath the F1 control dashboard and then fit it with a grindstone...today is saturday and I have plenty of time to try...

Good luck. Careful hands and a Dremel would solve the problem. Have fun.

There is no worse feeling (almost) than installing something that you can't wait to have in and then finding out it doesn't fit. This happened to me on a Jag XKR I used to have....I purchased a few CF pieces and the first one I tried to install did not fit correctly. You can imagine how frustrated I was after spending an hour getting it out of the car. I didn't have the patience to send it back and wait another week, so I took the dremel route and after about an additional hour of screwing around with it, I got it to fit perfectly. So good luck and take your time. Let us know what the outcome is.

Brought this thread back up. Didn't learn my lesson when you first posted now I'm faced with the same issue.

I solved the gear selector bit but now have trouble mounting the console back onto the base. I see only two mounting points, one with a 5mm screw and the other at the rear 6mm screw. But the front of the console plate does not have the two tabs as in my 430 coupe console so that means it might move around if someone decides to give it a nudge.

How did you solve the mounting of the console? Please share.

Addict, there should be two fixed pins on the console that should fit into both holes like a snap button. If you don't have them maybe you can remove them from your old console?

I checked the Scud console and it does not look like someone has snapped it off.

On my 430 carbon console there are two fixed pins but they are somewhat fused to the console like it was manufactured that way rather than a glue whacked on after thought job.

    Looks like it's modification time!

I have used Valence USA to make many of my one off CF parts. Great products at a great price. Chris is currently making for me the small and large top of dash defroster vents.

Valence has become my carbon supplier for those parts where OEM does not produce or has ridiculous prices:)
best quality on the web IMHO
