No idea. Think it's a beginner course on handling & slalom stuff. You did very well! Do I hear a buyer?
Sounds like auto cross. You will learn handbrake turns n drifts n turning the car with throttle rather than steering etc....... Then have a competition at the end. Good luck!
congrats Jon .. It will be terrific to take it on those histoircal drives. well done! ok .. I get the hint
Bro, I think he just wants to be your navigator to get the chance to play with your compass . Congrats and enjoy the races!
Now now MP, this is not the time to insult a man's size...... Or lack of it. I am sure Jon is sorry he disappointed you once before, but don't drag him down........hehe
Ferrari or Lambo would update their model range almost every 3 to 4 yrs. Usually same some minor cosmetic change and some engine upgrades. McLaren will be doing things a bit different, like an F1 season, the car get upgrades along the way. Got hold of this letter off a McLaren forum. Heard there will be 140 software updates, including increasing the power by 25 PS. In spore, the upgrade will be done before year end. This will surely influence the competition. Imagine this will be just the start and there will be more upgrades during the product life cycle of the car. Way to go McLaren. Image Unavailable, Please Login
they're really raising the bar .. it'll be interesting to see how Ferrari react .. they're not use to offering their customers anything unless they pay for it
A lot easier to do with a forced induction vs. NA. I'm sure McLaren designed the bottom-end of this engine to hold a lot more power than it has in current spec, with planned a roadmap of upgrades over the lifetime of the car. I think Nissan has done this brilliantly with GT-R. Competition gets a bit closer, turn up the boost and refine intake/exhaust to crank out more power. Then offer the kit as an aftermarket upgrade to current owners. It will be interesting to see how Ferrari reacts given how much faster the Macca already is over the competition. Getting extra power out of NA isn't nearly as easy. You can basically increase displacement or increase revs or both, neither of which are cheap or easy. I wonder how much room Ferrari has left in 458s block to increase the bore? It's basically the same block as the 430, isn't it?
Wow. And as an update for me, I have recently confirmed on a new Lotus Evora from ES. Did not go down the import used road etc....but took one brand new from the agent themselves. I know that some of you in here would rather me in a 2nd hand F car, but I really do like the Evora and love the way it drives. Nothing beats a brand new car I guess. Also, its price is also within my justifiable range for now. I am looking forward to the car. Was thinking of doing the top to become black. CKA - how is the quality of your wrap? Is it a gloss finish or matt? If its gloss, does the shine have to be maintained? You have had yours for some time now right? And where did you get your rims sprayed black? Thought of getting ES to do it. But do you have someone to recommend? POssible for me to maybe meet you to see the finished product of wrap top plus wheels sprayed?
I like their biz model as it keeps the car with the latest technology, "older" cars will not under perform against newer ones, which in theory should help hold it's value as well. It keeps the customer coming back instead of trying to go somewhere else for their service requirements. Other brands may also have to jump on this band wagon and that's great for us customers as well. For Ferrari, there is no change in the 458 until the light weight model comes along, the fax is already got more HP and with this upgrade, even more. Guess Ferrari has to go back to the drawing board and give it's light weight model more HP, etc.
Congrats Leroy. The wrap cost $450 and it's glossy black. Wheels cost $800. I am off to HK tonight and back on Thursday. Can meet up with you later in the week to check out my car. Give me a PM. Will be happy to pass you the contact.
Congrats Leroy and nice to see you being loyal to the Lotus brand. I'm sure you won't be disappointed.
I have always been a Lotus fan and will always remain in the Lotus camp for as many models that they have unless they really tank it. Even if I do jump to another camp, there will always be a Lotus in my garage. Now I have 2. My current Lotus Esprit, and the Lotus Evora. I still do believe in performance through lightweight and I like the fact that they are sticking to that model even with the Evora. Light, spartan, and impractical. Just the way I like it. The new Esprit is what I am waiting for to jump into the first V8 I will ever own. And they do stick to their principles, it will be one hell of a car.
