I had a 750Li (a new one) back in 2008. In the shop 9 times for all different electrical issues. I really like BMW's but I just don't know if I'd ever own one again. Have they worked any of these electrical issues out on newer models?

My wife has a 2011 740LI for almost a year and it has been exemplary.

I have a loaded 2008 550i 6 spd that was puchased new. I love the car but its not a 911 turbo. So I puchased the turbo for the summers. Presently looking for a winter car to replace the 550i but I can't find anything I would rather have. The 5 series is the one of best all rounder in my opinion. I am guessing it will be with me for a long time as an every day car.
I have test driven many of the great sedans which cost a lot more $. Bentley, Mercedes Amg, Maseratti, xjr, they all have their own appeal in certain catagories but they aren't better cars.

My old E24 1980 633csi, not cat with headers, hot rodded up a bit. I had it for 6 years until it was totaled out by a massive hail storm back in 1995. I kinda miss it but not all the issues that went with the ownership.

I had a 733i that my dad bought new and the only reason I sold it was because of the anemic A/C. It was so solidly built that it put his E32 750iL replacement to shame. One day I hope to pick up a nice E23 745i but not for a DD. Enjoy your 7!

I saw an ultra rare BMW M3 E90 CRT at a local car meet today. Thought some of you BMW guys want a closer look, it's a really sweet car and it drew tons of attention:

Also saw a lot Alpina B10 BiTurbo E34's. Man, those are some sweet old gentlemen racers, I really want one now...

Here's my newest acquisition: 2008 135i. Picked it up about 2 months ago with 53,000 km on the clock. It's my first bmw so far and aside from the first week of ownership, it's been a fun car so far.

Once I'm bored of this, I'll trade up and hop into an M3

Here's my daily driver: 1985 635csi, euro model... It gives me a few headaches, and needs some work, but I still look over my shoulder as I walk away from parking it, and that's all that matters. They are rare cars here in Brazil, especially when 23 year olds are diving them around...

Very, very nice cars. I was tempted by the E24 (the first generation Mk1 series, as posted by merstheman, for those who don't know) for a long time. Later I bought an E28 without being in search for one, so I got that "shark nose BMW" itch itched. Done 3500 miles from September last year and it still runs without complaining! Needs a new clutch and some suspension components, though...

We got very high car taxes so we don't always have the latest and greatest in our local BMW community, but that's okay because a lot of guys buy cool old BMW's instead. Good times. My BMW (first picture, gray car) playing with couple of others at a local BMW meet yesterday (on the way home we saw "The Batmobile" E9 CSL (don't know if it's real or a look-a-like) and he grinned when he saw our 15-16 BMW's convoy and we grinned because we spotted him!):

Edit: Later in rained too much, so we moved inside. I made a video, my car at the end:

That is not a real Batmobile, I think, but it does look good. Your e28 is looking great!

At home we have almost only BMW's. We have an e60 550, an e90 325, an e46 320, my e24, and an e36 320, which was the first one we ever had and which my grandma drives around today... They are all great cars, except perhaps the e90, which I can't get along with...

I hope one day to own an e28 M5, as I love the looks and the BMW straight 6 is a wonderful little engine. I love the e9's too. There is a Taiga green CSi for sale here in Brazil with a 3.5 engine and some alpina mods, that used to be owned by Wilson Fittipaldi. It's got a few issues, but it is an insanely cool car. There's also an e30 M3 for sale here, which we are looking at, but we probably won't get it right now. They are great little cars, though...

Yes, I also want an E28 M5. They are climbing in prices very rapidly (first M5...), so I hope to get one sooner than later. In UK E28 M5s command x3 higher prices than the E39 M5s, so that says something...
