Sad looking 348 Spyder

Found this one on eBay a couple of minutes ago.

buy it and part it out. It would cost a small fortune to bring her back and with 66k miles on her.

What a shame.

 

A white one too. Twice as sad...

 

The good news is that it saw lots of road use, and will most likely live on forever as spares for hundreds of other cars.

 

Exactly what I think I'll do. Wonder where his reserve price will be met?

 

I'm starting to like the white F-cars. If I were to sell mine I would consider a white TR

 

if when you do let me know about the door handles. I'm interested.

I wonder what the history of this car was?

I can't see any visible/big damage to it, which leads me to beleive that it was stolen and recovered, but with parts missing.

Someone bought it with the intention of "fixing it back up", till they realised it would cost A LOT of money to do so.

So they made up some crappy story and listed it on Ebay trying to recoup their money.

I had worked a deal with this guy to purchase this parts car last week only to have him back out. He is your typical used car dealer. On the phone he tells me it has a clean title, when I get there he tells me it has lien sale papers, then tells me salvage, finally it was a junk certificate. If anyone is interested in it ask for a copy of the title.

I'll post some pics from the day I drove to see this mess.. It was hit on the passenger front and not repaired well. Also, I was told this car has been sitting outside for 14 years by someone else. I was just looking for a parts car. $8500 was the price we agreed on before he backed out. For the condition of the parts I wouldn't see it being worth more.

Thanks for sharing your pictures. There are quite a few parts still on there but then its the question regarding its actual condition. Nobody would buy body parts that already has been messed with and has plenty of filler added to it. Then the engine is a risky part if it has been standing for that long outside and then ad that mileage to the picture...

For $8500 I would take it but then I have to ad at least $1300 in shipping to the east coast.

8000$???? No way it's even worth that much as a restoration project. I wouldn't pay 5k for it.

It's just too far gone for her I'm afraid. The seller should definetly dismantle the whole thing and catalog each part. It's a lot of work but he can probably get much more than his asking price by selling it as parts.

 

Looks like primer to me ...

It was mostly primer, surface rust and filth when I last saw it.. Also, last I checked the car was being sold with a junk certificate most states will not allow them to be rebuilt.
