I have a 2010 599 HGTE and the hgte exhaust sounds great on both start up and at wot. Has anyone with a 599 hgte managed to improve on the sound of the stock system by either replacing the exhaust system with an after market system or keeping the stock hgte exhaust and adding a sports cat or straight pipes?

    Any thoughts much appreciated, thx

Remove the secondary cats and replace with Fabspeed straight pipes.. Also your mufflers valves vacuum close so all you have to do is remove the lines and plug them. Your valves will stay open all the time. You will NOT trip any codes from either and I have no drone.

Agreed... Taking removing the secondary cats is an easy way to improve the sound (and gain power) without needing to change the mufflers. Shoot me a PM if you are interested... I have special FChat pricing).

Yes - the 599 HGTE shares the same exhaust layout as the 599 GTB. As such all components are interchangeable.

If you're looking for sound and performance, we have the only full system available on the market:

Mufflers on the HGTE are Tubi style
Cat delete pipes could be effectively a good solution for the sound and power
Capristo (for the design & quality) with cat delete pipe = wonderful life

Mark, I also have a 2010 HGTE and I had my mechanic plug the vacuum lines. This works perfectly and will give you exactly what you are looking for without replacing the exhaust system. And like others said, it does NOT trip any engine codes. Takes 10 minutes so do this and live with it for a week or so before you spend thousands.

I did this too and it sounds awesome at low revs but you can get a lot of resonance in the cabin at lower rpm. I intend to fit a switch in the cabin to have the choice, just need to find the solenoid valve :)

I had the switch installed on my HGTE and to be honest ... I drove it for 15,000 kms with the valves always open. Never experienced resonance at lower rpm to be honest.
