I have been seaching for a supplier of a replica (fiberglass/carbon fiber) front bumper for a US 308 (1982 GTSi to be exact). I have already replaced the rear with a fiberglass euro blade and love it. That guy does not make a US front bumper. I met an aircraft parts replica manufacturer at a car show last week and told him of my issue. He works out of Chino airport here in Southern California. He also makes carbon fiber and fiberglass parts for high end sportscars. He said he could do a mold of mine to create one. Mostly his work is carbon fiber over fiberglass (low cost, but looks GREAT). He will send me some pictures of his work soon and I will post them. For me, I didn't want to go with the full euro front bumper because of the need for a new grill. I am looking for a 'plug and play' design, just remove the old heavy beast and bolt on the new one without any mods.
    Two questions for the gang..
    1. Should the new bumper be the EXACT depth of the US one (I have already done the front bumper 'tuck in' mod)? or should it be shorter like the EURO one ?
    2. Would there be any interest in anyone else ordering these? I told him $400.00 would be tops for a price.
    Thanks

Rennsport makes the front bumper I believe. Couple hundred bucks if I remember right.

I would be interested in one of these, as well. I got my Euro bumpers from Rock's Auto, but now I need a new front grill, or to "modify" the existing one due to Euro-U.S. differences.

If you've already done the squish mod I would stay with the original dimensions. I just finished the MAcarbon mod. You run out of room to spin wrenches pretty quickly.

Nope. Haven't talked with John in a while. You might give him a call to prod him along. ;-)

I spoke with John and he sent me a picture of the prototype on his 308, looks great! He is researching to find out when or if they can make any more. In the mean time, the guy at Chino airport sent a couple of examples of his work (car parts) for your review. My guess is that if John decides not to make any, I will give the airport guy my bumper for a mold.
    I'll keep you posted....
