Spend your money wisely, always go for the best possible & pay above market to enjoy immediately or buy a project car & make sure it's cheap. I was actually looking @ 60-70s Alfa GTVs recently & almost bought it! Focus, focus!

There was a nice 328GTS for sale 1yr back for Rm280K, needed some work but it's decent & quite reasonably priced but would prefer a berlinetta cos targas always leak.

The Mondial may not look nice but it's quite balanced & relatively easy to maintain. In fact, they are all easy to maintain up to pre 348 as many owners even DIY in their garage. Go get one & you'll enjoy a fine V8 machine.

Rm50K should be more than enough on a 348/355 for several years provided it's a good car to start with but look out for the suspension & clutch job as usual. Suspension on the 355 is a bit more complicated=$$$

Went down to JT cars today. The nice 348Spider is Rm255K. Not bad IMHO as it's a late model & one owner but for RM320K, you can have a done up 355 spider. Aiyo....

If I'm not wrong, that 348 Spider is the one that has been advertising on Motor Trader for quite awhile. JT cars advertisement rings a bell.

thanks alot for the invite. However I'll be in KL over the weekend. However, I wld def come for the next drive. I'm hoping my car would be out next week. Will drop by thereafter.
In regards to that hidden 575/550, I know where it is!!! haha....and ure right i think its prob for sale cause i'v passed his house a few times and it hasn't moved in ages from the looks of it.....its covered and the cover from the look of it hasn't been opened in ages...but the wheels are well inflated though!

now thats the spidey(355) i was talking about....wonder who the previous owner was!!! ;-)
but that 348 looks mighty new doesn't it.....

well yes.....anywhere from RM8k-RM20k.....then there wld be the clutch replacement etc which pushes it a little further north...but RM50k for maintenance every 5years @ RM10k per annum is about there i guess.....

I got the mag immediately and its just brilliant read.........well the 308s and the 328s are essentially the same thing with the latter having a slightly bigger engine + a lil bit more electronics......

Haven't been looking there for a while but how's the general market like here? People don't seem to appreciate soon-to-be classics, I see them lying around unloved for a long time with no buyers. Is it the high cost of maintenance & road tax?

When I visit workshops in Sunway & Segambut, there are lots of very very interesting cars getting major done which shows the market is there. Porsche 356s, E-types, Morris, Jags, Merc, Alfas, Lotus Elan & even a Lamborghini Espada! Not to mention those pre-80s Japs.

yes def the roadtax.....the thing is, u buy a 3.5-3.8LL car with as much power as the 12pots and pay almost a third of the roadtax.......however the Bentleys (Continental, etc) seem to be moving well....

and yes the owner was not too far if you scroll up!

Don't you guys do the semenanjung? Or switch to classic when it's aged. 12cylinders are very desirable on open roads where there's so many in Malaysia. The torque just keeps coming where V8s & below will give up

i don't get ure question.... we live in semenanjung.....our roadtaxes are currently "semenanjung".....and yes we switch to classic but it has to be min 25years.....i'm sure the many E-Types, etc around are enjoying this!!!!!

some comments abt the 355...my first ferrari was the 355 spider and I will never forget the excitement when I first drove it....the looks were superb especially with the roof down...I changed the exhaust on mine to straight pipes with capristo stage 3 exhaust and it sounded like heaven on earth...closest thing on the road to an F1 ferrari ever. I guess the flat crank configuration and 5 valves gave it that high pitched F1 sound...it is also the lowest ferrari ever. U sat in it like sitting in a bathtub with yr ass just cm above the ground and it cornered like a go cart on rails and stuck to the ground like a leech...BUT the front was vague and at high speeds the 355 felt as it was going to lift off...the solution was simple put a couple of pieces of heavy luggage in the front boot ;-) the looks are really something IMHO the best looking of the old school ferraris...(the spider) after the 355 the looks become more "curvy" and not so angular...

    ;)

My hair stands reading this ^^ yep the high-pitch exhaust note is among the best ever for road cars. 430 sounds really bad.

Your solution sounds like a classic 911 thing to do :D

    HI guys,

I went to the airport this morning, to pick a friend of mine, and saw tonnes of Ferraris, Porsches, Lamborghinis, Nissan GTRs, Honda CRZs, Lotuses, etc.

From the looks of it, they were heading to the Speang circuit. Any news on this?

SuperGT weekend. Sport/super cars owners were invited to join the parade. Largest car parade or something, they said.

During last year, the organizers were trying to set a Malaysia record by having the largest car parade. Those were the criterias. We're not talking about just supercars here. Heck, even Cooper S and those CLKs are qualify. So why not the CRZ?

I drove a CRZ a few weeks ago, and i have to say, it's one of the best cars i've driven. Granted, it's no supercar whatsoever, but it did bring a smile to my face.

Oh boy, some "Supercars" gathering indeed so the record must've been broken then.

I'm not really sure about the details. But I remembered they were trying to set a 'supercar' record, but I guess things changed.

Why didn't you join? Thought you got the invite :D

    +1

I'm really looking forward to the auto variant which they are bringing in. I wonder how it differs from the manual.

Wouldn't want to get stuck in the biggest ever traffic jam in Sepang ;)

Besides, did you guys see the video of a freak Multi pile up last year? That's why a strong message was sent out, no racing, keep in line!

thats the thing with Malaysia....we want to set a record in any way possible, by any means possible and in anything possible....."biggest roti chanai eating do", "longest teh tarik pulling session", "biggest murtabak" etc etc.......as long as its the biggest, longest or tallest, its good..... well i suppose then kancils and sagas qualify too right? (the kelisa is mighty fun....i swear!)

its on youtube? yeah the thing is, we want the biggest this and that with no proper guidelines, sanctions etc...... heard about the recent drag mishap in Putrajaya a few days after a mega Supercar parade there for some ruling govt popularity drive? (pun not intended!) wonder if they broke any records there...(besides the multiple bones of about 17 innocent spectators of course)....
