Hello all, I was wondering what type of oil everyone is using or what is the best for the car? Any other do’s and don’ts you all can give to this beginner will always be appreciated. Thanks Joee

I like to use Mobil 1 engine oil in my 348.

And definitely use Redline Superlight Shockproof oil in your gearbox. It will be the best $150 you will ever spend on your 348. ;)

The coolant and brake fluids are all pretty much the same.

Thanks once again and it is a 348 TS,

would you guys know are these cars prone to burn up oil?

I was going thru the owners manule and the previous owner has some note in it to add 1-1 1/2 qrts of oil every 500-600 miles.

There are no leaks or anything not even a oil burning smell. but the note is pretty clear and he highlighted it.

Thanks again for all the help.

For gear oil I use Redline 75W90NS

For engie oil I use Redline 10W40

Regarding your previous owner's notes - the owners manual states to check the engine oil every 500 miles (if I'm not mistaken). I would simply check every 500 and if it needs topping up, go for it.....for the record, I am on my 4th year of ownership and haven't had to top off ever (I put between 1500-2000 miles on per year)

I have put over 13,000 miles on my 355 in less than four years. And I, too, have never had to top it off. My car burns NO oil. :)

All Redline products in my car as well.

That seems like a lot of oil to add every 500 miles.

And mine was out of commission from April-September 2010.

AND....sheesh...I used to travel for work at least 21 days a month....

I just don't know how people only put 2000 miles a year on their ******* FCars.

Some cars do, some cars don't. Some burn a little, some cars a little more. :)
