Nice.... pity our 308s don't rev that high! Speaking of which, can anyone tell me why sports cars always sound and drive better on a crisp foggy morning? Is it just because the cool air gives better combustion? My old P-Turbo in particular turns into a rocket ship.

As RB said. When I raced Karts they loved the cold crisp mornings (two stroke carbi). Basically air density is up which means more oxygen so can run more fuel. Well that was the case with Karts, used to richen it up.

 

SU carbs thrive on cold thick air.

The early OHOS that ran a single Weber,would have been dar better of on one large 2 1/2 inch SU or even a Normon 3 inch,far larger intake for cold air mixture then the same period Weber.

I'd say I've owned more Weber carbs they anyone else in this section ie
various Jags,Alfa's Escort.
BB,2 x Porkers and the 2 mustangs .
These days i prefer Motec.
