i was just reading an article on this, though it doesn't go into detail about why the complaint was made?

it doesn't give much faith to investors, and may hurt the british government funding potentially

one funny comment, is how he had $375 pounds worth of house renos, paid by the company, but rented by him?!

Don't know the details but pretty poor form for a company to suspend the MD no matter the circumstances... either support him or replace him - there is no going back now though :(

Where's VAG when you need them to save a legendary, hardcore marque?

It may sound odd but I was expecting him to be canned sooner - he is a slick salesman type (and self-professed "not a car guy") fronting an Asian-owned company branded on engineering. I would expect more Piech and less Montemezolo from a company like Lotus. Even with his branding focus, Montemezolo knew more about what the buyer wants.

if the parent company wants to run the show, but have a western / british face ceo, then hire on someone like jackie stewart, or such

This company is an embarrassing mess. I guess we can probably expect to see the new Esprit sometime in 2016... and the other models never.

And just how many times has the priest come to read the last rites to Lotus before? I'm not betting against 'em.

    IMHO

    What about BMW?

They haven't had a proper midengine car since the M1, they have proper engines, they invest heavily in carbon fibre. I`m sure they have enough money.

Lotus BMW sounds good to me!

Probably someone should give Mrs Klatten a little hint.

    What chp said!

(I just figured it'd be nothing to VAG to buy the marque and assign it to Weissach, but BMW ownership works too.)
