I'm with you on this one. The quilted seats just look to cushy for the 458. Unlike with the 360 where the racing seats were a little over the top and uncomfortable for most, with the 458 you gotta have the racing seats, especially with the middle stripe IMO. I think I'd have a hard time pulling the trigger on one without them.
Agree, I love my new racing seats - both for the aggressive looks and comfort. When I see quilted seats - makes me think of a pipe and slippers - way to fussy for a sports car. For my continuing mid-life crisis I need sporty!! But then, to each his own. David
This was at Cauley Ferrari yesterday getting ready for the races at Belle Isle. The whole racing team was there dressed in the Ferrari racing attire. Pardon the low quality phone pics. I know of someone that was there with me that got many great shots and videos. No start up, though. We were told it is borderline illegally loud, and the only reason they wouldn't start it for us is that they had to go through a whole checklist to be able to turn the key. Hello from a supporter of diamond seats here Who said a Ferrari cannot be simply elegant? Ferraris feature the best sport-elegance combos since 1947, you have to agree here. It is all very relative: F-cars' cabins are usually very luxurious with all that top quality leather and its classic leather shades (crema/tan/cuoio/cioccolatto). There's another sporty trend which includes carbon fiber, bare aluminium, alcantara, in which the racing seats suit perfectly. But for the classic trend, the diamond seats look fabulous. Surely we will all agree that a mix of both would be disastrous, but as long as you keep themes apart, there's room for a classic config. or a sporty one. The exterior looks of the 458 for example, along with the right colour choice, make room for either a classic/classy interior or for a sporty/racing one.
Those cell phone pics were actually quite clear! It's amazing what phones can do nowadays. Thanks again for the tip and for posting the link! Chris
I'm not sure exactly, I don't know much about the race cars. It's part of the Rolex Grand-Am series. Chris
What makes the 458 great is that it can be many different things to different people. Elegant and aggressive are two examples.
Finally saw the spider today, looked incredible in white. It was waiting for it's new owner at FoNE. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I like white on some models, but it's not my favorite on the Spyder...to my eye it highlights the seam where the buttress meets the body...I find it just jumps out at me. Also, with the top up, white highlights more lines/seams. You can't make those things go away, but for me any color less stark than white softens the seams.
