Had a chance to experience the SLS AMG GT3 last week at Lausitzring. The experience was absolutely amazing. Very high level instruction from active race car drivers who all competed in the N24 couple of weeks ago. Red carpet treatment as the program provides everything from shuttling you around from the airport and back, hotel, meals, etc... The instructors pushed very hard. If you spun the car, it was OK! This event is part of the AMG Driving academy Masters Series, called the SLS GT3 Warm-up http://www.mercedes-amg.com/driving-academy/

This is one of the reasons that so many customers are racing these cars. Factory support and training.

I believe that is the primary goal of the Masters program: Customer Sports, a way to get private teams to buy the cars. It truly was an amazing experience. The car was relatively easy to drive and very well balanced.

Could not agree more Jim....Ferrari offered something similar to this at the Cavalino to prospective customers but only a few laps in a Challenge Car....still nice.

Looks like a very comprehensive driving experience...much better than some of those I've attended which felt more like sales-oriented test drives. Thanks for sharing!

It is quite serious. There were a number of attendees there who had completed various other racing schools and commented how this was the top program they had attended.

The U.S. version of the AMG Driving Academy is quite good as well. Although it is primarily sales oriented, the instruction is also top notch. Especially at the Pro level, where you are trusted to hot lap an SLS all by yourself for a full day at the end of a three day training. Complete with data analysis and all.

The European experience takes it another level. In addition to all of the different levels there is this, the Masters level, where you are taught everything from how to drive the full on GT3 race car to actually being able to participate in the Masters Series, which is simply put, a championship race. All arrive and drive.
You can even get a race car seat made specifically for you and AMG will lug it to every event.

The seat time is plentiful and enough to get you to quit on your own (after your neck muscles give from 1.8Gs in the corners).

While the program is not cheap, it is certainly a bargain when you consider what you get.
