    Pretty cool, 27 aircraft. It looked pretty close to perfect except for the aircraft that was to be the middle of the top crossbar on the E, slightly right of position (from aircraft POV).

    I wonder is this the largest formation ever for this kind of display (text or graphics to be viewed from the ground) or if something was larger?

    I've got a picture my grandfather took shortly after WWII with more planes, I don't remember what the word was though.

    I don't believe that those are the current RAF mounts, they appear to be Foland Gnats.

    They are the current jet trainers - the single engined BAE Hawk.
