    Felipe,
I think that is very generous of you to wish him luck and the photo op.

+1 on that, the guy is still an F1 Pilot, most of us would kill for that opportunity. Hats off to Phil for the marked improvement the last few weeks. Keep in mind he was a few points off a WDC not so long ago. Sans watch taste Phil seams ok to me.

+1. The photo op is a very kind gesture by Phil.

I have to agree with everyone else. Why waste the guy's time if only to mock and ridicule him with the pic later?

Cool pic! I got one taken with him at the 2005 USGP. He's very short but I suppose they all are other than Webber

    Not the way I read your post;

Sure reads like you're piling on Phil from that..... Almost as disingenuous as "my account got hacked!"....... Sorry, I'm with the others on this - A nice gesture, no need for that comment.

    Cheers,
    Ian

Really? Why is it an insult? Seems there are plenty of drivers enjoying the time they are spending in Nascar? I would love to see Massa drive without all the F1 pressure on his head. The man is overwhelmed, he looks like a deer in the headlight. It is his time to walk away. He seems like a very genuine racer who would do well without all the BS.

At least Massa was well inside the 107% rule and finished 10th.
RCallahan - 19th and outside of 110%. Same watch or not, you have gone out of your way to disparaged a driver who both outperformed you and was nice enough to come over and take a picture with you. How embarassing and classless.....

Perhaps the thread could be retitled "hey, check out who I met before the Challenge Race in Montreal." I am sure the response would be different.

I did not disparage anyone. I like Massa. He is certainly a better driver than anyone on this board, but he is toast. Is it disparaging to go to Nascar and make and make millions?

I saw him spin coming out of turn 2 all by himself. I did it my self (with a flat tire) but he should not be making dumb ass mistakes when driving for Ferrari.

saying an F1 driver is degraded to an nascar drive is an insult and a half. low blow. the defence being put up now is subpar....

Mr. Callahan apparently has been blessed with enough confidence to succeed and enough money to go Challenge racing; good on him!

But if his car is the number 75 brown car there was only one of in Montreal, it was the slowest car in Race 1 and was the slowest in race 2 until a tire let go.

It takes either a major problem with the car, or a significant lack of talent to be last in a challenge race.

A very good mantra to maintain too! ;)

As someone said above, had the thread been titled something like "Look who I got a picture with in Montreal!" the response would have been *very* different..... Remember, while there are many Phil haters here he remains (for now anyway ;)) a long term, loyal, and dedicated member of the Scuderia - Many will always love him for that at least. [And, *please* lets not turn this into another Phil bashing thread, thanks!]

    Cheers,
    Ian

And lest we forget. The likes of Phil Massa or Justin Wilson, or Scott Speed or anyone who had to depart F1 in a less than championship way, has the skill, the cohones, and the determination, we meer mortals can only dream of (not that I dream about cohones but I hope you know what I mean).;)

IMHO, having seen both Kimi Raikkonen, and Kurt Busch on the same track within a week of each other with the same karts, many of the NASCAR drivers could keep up with/beat most of the F1 drivers, if Kimi is as great as people here seem to think he is.

Now that said, they are racing two entirely different vehicles, high momentum, reduced downforce, low momentum, maximum downforce. Neither one is just going to step into the other venue, and dominate. But I wouldn't consider NASCAR drivers skill less.

Callahan - You were the brown 75 car? I got a picture of your car before the Sunday race (below).

My friend got a good picture of your car on Sat as well. Yours was the only car that he could focus properly on, as the others were going too fast. ;)

Seriously - looks like you had a great weekend. Very cool. :)
