I still remember going out to Pukekoe one weekend around that time and a guy was there in his 308 (red). Had an engine problem, blew smoke down the front straight. Guy had a beard that's all I remember. I was a young bloke who loved the car and I remember going over to talk to him. I often think about that guy when at track as it brings back memories.
I don't know RB (not big in size), I just wish the guy was around so I could say that seeing him was great motivation for me as kid to work hard (I was 20 at the time). It was so long time ago but as I said he was just a really nice guy and took the time out to chat to me while looking in his engine bay.
True, can vouch for that as you didnt want to look like a "wannabe". Although I wish the young girl had of taken her suit off as she would have looked much better than just wearing half of it..... Although I think it was a ploy to distract her competitors.
