Just wanted to share with my Dino friends, and as I know there are a few that like BMW, I will be forgiven for non Dino post.... it is such a pretty car.:)

Only 16K km. on the clock. Certified. Came with a set of Alpina wheels + the originals, and the BBS. All tools, books and I have a CSL steering wheel for it.
European version, 3.3 engine, 3 Weber DCOE, original paint.

My wife was overwhelmed about the fact that for a change, I bought a car that runs and only needs minor work.

I know, nothing to do with Dino, yet I hope you will like it.

    Regards, Alberto

Alberto, enjoy your new toy. I am on my third BMW and have had nothing but fun with them. My latest is an '02 M-5. Methinks its getting to be time for a change. As my BM's generally don't see snow, like yours a classic would be nothing but fun. A Dino it's not, but it'll be a lot of fun to drive. Marc

these older cars all have one thing in comon...you get that hands on driving experience. Modern cars are much too refined.

Thank you all! I knew it was going to be liked....
Ron, amazingly, it has nothing missing. It is only in Dinoland that we lose lights.
Now, I need to buy some XWX, and I'll be set.

Beautiful car, Alberto, congrats! Looks perfect with the BBS wheels, period correct!

BMWs of this vintage are some of my favorites. Love the 2002s also, but the CS coupes were of course in a class of their own. I think of them as a sort of German version of the 330 GTC, but with more performance and racing potential.

16000 km, is that really possible? A fantastic find in that case.
Is it a 3.0 CS? I was not aware of any 3.3 L engine. Has it been bored and stroked, or did you mean 3.003 L? (I understand the 3.0 CSL engine was made into that displacement at some time.)

In any case, a wonderful car. Did you find it in El Salvador?

    Lars

Lars, indeed, 16,000 KM, and amazingly, no rust. My friend has owned it since 1995, a gray market car that he found in the USA,
and he imported it back to El Salvador
I asked him about it last week, and....sold!
The engine was replaced with a 3.3 L with the three DCOE. Lovely induction noise.

Volkmar, your CSL is great! How long have you owned it? You even have the rear fog light, was that standard?
Thank you all for the kind words.

    Regards, Alberto

I own it since 2007, the car has had a complete and ground up restoration to all original specs.
Yes, these rear frog ;-) lights are standard for European cars.

Beautiful CS you have there Alberto. Would be great to hear more about your future experience with it.
BTW, I have one too! Euro version, but no fog light. Converted to 5-speed and 3.5, original rejetted carbs, and CSi suspension setup with thick rollbars. Been all over Europe with it since 1999 - holidays, car events like Le Mans, and daily summer driving, lots of it - definitely more than 16.000 on it :D, lots of memories and enjoyment. Pardon me for the tow hitch, it's there for bumper protection :). Soon to be back again on restored original wheels with 205/70 tires (currently 225/60). Those BBS wheels look great on yours. Hope you will enjoy the car. El Salvador is more and more looking like a nice place from your posts.

I am thankful that with my post, I have not been moved to 'other cars', as otherwise my friends would not have read about the CS, as this is Dinoland...

My father owned one in 1970, albeit a 2800 CS, in dark green with beige interior and a steering wheel the size of a truck. It has always been a car of remembrance of my youth, as he always very generously let me drive it.
This one, was really luck, as things happen that way. My friend imported it to El Salvador in 2000 and never drove it, and as things happen,
I asked him about it two weeks ago and now you know how it ended.

With it, came a set of 14 x 7 Alpina wheels, which will go back on with Vredesteins.
The BBS are really pretty, and being 15", easier to find tires for, yet I suppose for our roads they would be almost 'low profile' and possibly not very adequate.
Either way, all the tires have to go, as they are over 8 years old in the BBS, and 12 on the Alpina.
The car has had absolutely zero maintenance, and needs all sort of fluid transfusions, brake calipers rebuild, CV Joints, wheel bearings, and a few bushings.
With the blessings of being rust free, which for the Coupes, it is short of a miracle, thankfully, no bodywork.
I am certain you have heard the story about Karmann inventing rust and selling the patent to the Italians, mostly Scaglietti ;).

I really like your Coupe! White is a great color for it and the tow bar is essential...Do you have a close ratio or normal 5 speed?
Either way, it must be better than the 4 speed, as the ratios are way too long...That, will be a 'to do' item.

Thank you about the comments about El Salvador.
It is a very third world country with all the ups and downs that it implies, yet a very pleasant place to live in provided you can get out every once in a while.
Come visit, you will love it :)
By the way, Amsterdam is not too bad either, I absolutely miss it!
