How's living in States now? Got a mate who just migrated to Vancouver & told me how good it is & cars+properties are so "cheap" not to mention the abundant land to drive. Free education & medical unlike here!

Tuck, you might know, him. He was from 89FWC.

Housing generally speaking, depending on the city of course, is pretty cheap these days. Cars have ALWAYS been cheap compared to Singapore. :) Lots of open roads to pursue your happiness and enjoy your toys. Job situation is still pretty ugly and will be for awhile I think.

Free education and medical? That only applies to our socialist cousins up in the People's Democratic Republic of Canada. :D

Hey, the brothers here can always help you to review. :D

Bro, you should really get a ride in Italy, given the time u spend there. Have you invested in any properties in EU since the value & currency are rather attractive now.

    LOL

Are the speed controls there tough? Do they just fine you for speeding?

Just depends on where you are. In some of the more congested areas they patrol very heavily because writing tickets is a good money maker for the local government. Highways are generally patrolled very strictly by different agencies, local, county, or state cops. But most places just have too much blacktop for any of the agencies to effectively patrol all of it. I used to wake up early and go and drive the twisty backroads outside of the city and you'd almost never see a cop.

Most states have a clip level that imposes a fine up to a certain point and an automatic arrest if you're over that. In my home state, Texas, I think it's anything 50MPH or greater over the posted limit and you automatically go to jail. A lot of it depends on the judgement call of the cop. They can always cite you for "reckless driving" or "racing on highway" and arrest you on the spot if they want to. Or they can also be cool and write a cheaper ticket or a warning if they really think you aren't posing that much of a threat and you don't act like a rude jackass when you're dealing with them. The chances of this are much greater obviously if you have your seatbelt on, haven't been drinking, look respectable, ie. not like a drug user, etc.

I once got pulled over after getting clocked by radar at 124mph (199kph) when I was 19 on a highway at about 1AM. I should have gone to jail no question but the cop gave me a speeding ticket for the full amount after I talked my way out of it. The total fine (which was alot for me at time!) was $350 and the judge put me on a 6 mos. restricted license where I could only use my car for work and school. My insurance company also immediately dropped my coverage and my rates went through the roof for the next few years afterwards. This was in 1993 so I think if that happened today I'd go straight to jail.

Gotta pick safe places to have your fun. :)

Well, that's if you can even call the California a realistic 4 seater.

Those at the back will have a pretty good view of their feet. :D

Wow sounds more like a military state to me :D Thanks for sharing with us so much details but how could you guys ever realize 200mph or even have a good run over the mountains? My friend told me he was pulled over for doing 70 in a 50 zone in CA. It was a rented car but he does look like a Viet drug dealer :p

Don't tell me you went for the 2+2?

Was offered an 06 yellow Spyder for $388k today, tempting! OMV is $262k while the latest superleggera are only $220k!

Can't rem, got to chk my book. Winter's nice & I always enjoy 4seasons. Am also thinking if I should migrate as Southern France has always been my dream.

    Haha

That has to be done a track.

You can still have fun on the open road, you just have to pick your spots and not get too crazy.

Jon, seems market price for 06 Lambo or Ferrari going for $300plus K which is about 60 plus% of it's original new car price. Guess when you compare today to the fax or 458, it looks like a great deal. For the gallardo spider, you can take the pick of any color you like, lots on sale. Seems you have the ITCH again:D

I know, there is a big Q of helpful bros. Get in line:D Everything is cheap in Europe, especially in the PIG countries. Buying a nice car in Milan is a bad idea. The roads are terrible, lots of cobbled roads and you can forget about finding a car park when you are out. My bro collects watches and you can find some rare pcs at good prices. In fact they contact my bro whenever they have something nice and they want to sell. Good instant returns if he wants to sell it in Spore immediately. Consolation prize staying so long in Italy is the food is out of this world.
