I considered purchasing this car before I bought my spider, I was just surfing eBay today and spotted it on here. There are several things this car needs, and not only that the owner is a complete dick.

    1. The car has no been serviced since 7k in 04
    2. It needs a timing belt, wp, major, clutch, and thermal couplers
    3. The whole front and rear do not align well
    4. Tires are gone, I mean completly gone (owners excuse, ferraris eat tires)
    5. Mismatching headlights
    6. Salvage title, as stated
    7. Seller lied about services, and then yelled at me for calling the dealership to ask if the services were done.
    8. He would not let me do a PPI or test drive without $2k deposit.

All in all, $50k is what he was going to sell it to me for, maybe he wants less now, but the work the car needs exceeds over $15k, and in the end its a rebuilt Ferrari. Just a warning to the bidders

Looks like a mess. Anyone that would install a yellow headlight clearly doesn't have it all together.

    Thanks for the heads up.

Too much money but would make a great "run it into the ground car" for someone.

It's still a 360. Not everyone wants or needs a museum piece.

The 2K deposit is just stupid. He'll never sell this car.

Good point! If he couldn't afford to paint a headlight to match (max $300) then who knows what he did for oil changes

Why are so many 360s with problems happen to be silver? LOL!!!!!!!! I've seen more silver 360s with issues than any other color. It was even a guy here last week that got his sliver 360 confiscated because his buddy was a coke dealer.

If only I could find a second yellow headlight; then its ON. ;)

+1; could he not find the right color headlight or paint it, really...

Its a 40K car IMO. Salvage title, front and back smangelealigned (had to make up a word to describe the extremely poor fitment), needs 10k of work mechanically (clutch+belts+whatever else he let slide).

I have named the car "Old Yeller", and hope someone buys it and saves it.

I wonder if it is the same car from this thread?

    http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=289258

While I think the asking price is high, whoever had the passion and enthusiasm to piece that together, might have taken reasonable care of the car. Might be a good project to complete if mechanically sound and at a proper price point.

No relation to the seller...just playing devil's advocate.

Another good potential race car. Prices coming down on the bad condition ones and for those DIY'rs that race, like me, it's almost ready to pull the trigger on one, gut it and go racing.

    Some clarification....perhaps:

First, Its not the same car in the thread.
It is the one under the lift in the pictures. Previously damaged and fixed before I received the car.

Second, if you read the description no one is trying to fool anybody. If I wanted, I could have easily painted the light, tightened the rear bumper, detailed the car, hired a photographer, etc.... oh yes, and I can afford to!

As for Phillip K.... well he tried to buy the car on three different occasions. Why?

Now, I assume some of you fellows that have responded here may be perfectionists.... As stated in the description this is not that car.

Guys! This car has been driven for 10K miles with zero issues.

I am sure this car has been enjoyed more than most the garage queens that are sought after.
I don't see a problem here. If someone does not like the car simply do not buy it.

So, In summary while others spend a small fortune to have their car garaged and babied, this one was driven and enjoyed, with all its issues. Entrance fee is low! It is a Ferrari.

Finally, it is clearly stated in the description that if a PPI is needed, I will take it to Ferrari.

My uncle bought this car yest, despite me advising him strongly not too he insisted it was a good deal and bought it for under $50k.

Afterwards he came by my shop to let me drive it (for the first time) and I do not believe this car was driven without any issues EVER. The slowdown light is on all the time, the power is extremely reduced, check engine light on, no traction, no e-brake (he told me the previous owner used a rock to park it...), and a few other issues.

Luckily it was dropped off an hour after me driving it to a body shop to get all the body flaws out (and headlight painted silver), and it will be seeing the dealership shortly to get a nice $10k service done to get the car back up to actual drivable shape

Sounds like it could end up being an expensive salvage title 360 Modena... Fingers crossed it didn't turn out too bad!

LOL he couldn't be more wrong, you CANNOT enjoy a Ferrari that drivers like a civic, and then say it has no issues.

But hopefully he gets in with repairs and all under $60k, either way I warned him not to buy it!

Power reduced, check lights on, and not even a compression test done? So it can have bad cylinder walls without knowing? It has body alignment issues and possibly tracking issues, and a salvage title so the whole chassis can be out of whack?
My conclusion, it isn't a 'deal', since you still have to get all the issues out and it will always have a tarnished history; even if he is lucky and it checks out, (which I kind of doubt it will), he took a huge risk that absolutely wasn't worth it.

DO keep us updated though :D
