    To all of you that participated in last years Toy Run here is an article that is directed to you because your involvement made it happen. This article is found in the FCA publication Prancing Horse and is in issue #183 second quarter of 2012.
    Again the only reason this event was so successful was because of your generosity.

    "we" is bull ****, there is no "we" with Boardwalk for toy runs or car shows. yes Steve, I know you are trying to fix what was broken before you got there. :D don't expect us to forget just because you are there now. ;)

    Simple Answer:

    Boardwalk had an events planner on staff that didn't check dates and was not aware of other events planned for the same timeframe. Boardwalk had invested alot of time and money setting up the Boardwalk event and neither side was willing to work with each other in order to make it a combined effort with a positive outcome for all parties involved.

    More complex:

    It became a Boardwalk vs them situation where each side has valid points, that had they come together 6 months in advance could have been planned around without the internet hype and anger that followed. It became who was there first and neither parties would back down for their own reasons.

    I'm not taking sides , until backed into a corner. I was personally filling the trunks of Porsches with Hot Wheels as an Audi employee. Then when I became more active on more forums I helped bring even more car groups / clubs / forums together to help grow an event that was for a good cause. I think the first event I came on was the 3rd annual event with F Chat.

    I've done all but 1 Toy Run, one of the best events of the year! I always take as many toys as I can carry and then feel like I didn't bring enough.

    Steve with all due respect the first sentence is correct the second one is BLATANTLY incorrect. You were not there at the time and I have all of the e-mail exchanges between myself and Brian. It was an honest mistake on Boardwalk's part and it could have been easily rectified but your company drew a line in the sand and we stormed across it!

    I have also seen the e-mail exchange between Brian and yourself. Both sides had a chance to correct it and neither took actions that I ( from the outside because as you said I was not here at the time ) can see could have prevented it from happening. BOTH sides could have backed down, instead it became a battle of who was what,when, and where.

    NOW, what are we going to do about it THIS year, moving forward?

    I am hoping that we can discuss this and what we can do together this year at Thursday nights meeting. That way we can move forward for no other reason than the kids that we are going to help in the upcoming Holiday season.

    would love to get this event planned and on my calendar instead of going back and forth on what happened years ago.

    I would hate to see the past issues interrupt the real reason for the event, or event(s) which is the children that are much less fortunate than ours.

    it didn't happen years ago (toy run version of hijack, the car show version of Boardwalk hijack was years ago), just end of last year.

    Don's event always happens and it always happens the same time 2nd weekend of December.

    The 8th Annual ORIGINAL Dallas/Fort Worth Toy Run will be held on December 8th as I stated on Ferrarichat at the conclusion of last years hugely successful event.

    Carolyn and I will do the planning and we welcome any and all support form the local car community and as is always our policy this will be an independent event.

    My whole point in the original post was to thank all of you who gave your time and toys to the run. I thought it was a interesting article on something our region did and in which you guys participated, but may not have had access to the original publication.

    There is no sense in rehashing past events. We all know the story irrespective of the current Thespians.

    Lets make this years Toy Run the biggest and the best!:)
