Yeap, that's mine, during the LCCG Meeting in May we visited the Audi Forum in Neckarsulm where the R8 production line is located and they produced well over 1000 Gallardos (!).
Listen to this 1984 LP500S. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BzyorqN2T2M&feature=player_embedded[/ame]
Perhaps My very poor hearing is confusing me? Was that the engine or were there other noises in the background like the turntable moving? Sounded like it was running lean, not on all cylinders with too low an idle???
Not 100% sure, but I think this is the same color as the 1988 5000QV that was at the St. Louis dealership a few years back? Here was the PPG Paint Code Sticker from the car: Mike Image Unavailable, Please Login
Are you sure it is non factory? I love the color also and would like to see the paint code sticker. Since the factory would paint it whatever color you wanted i just don't think we could say it's "non factory" yet unless YOU happen to be familiar with this car.....?
Peter, I finally found a link that had all the pictures of the 1988 that was for sale at St. Louis Car Museum. Here it is for comparison. Sure looks similar..... http://www.carpictures.com/Lamborghini/Countach-LP-5000-QV-Awesome-Car-Great-Color-Horrid-Bumpers-1988-09L3C420513173 Mike
The front spats (behind wheels) are not correct for an S2...do not stick out far enough..not squared off like S1/S2 units should be...look like S3 or 5000S spats, also does not have seatbelts. Brian
The seller seems to have alot of cars he is trying to portray as great investments. They dont look that way to me.
I have a box muffler here, a very expensive doorstop! A shop purchased it by mistake for the owner and tried to convince him to use it on the LP400. BTW, is there any factory documentation for the Ansa exhaust aside from photos? The parts manual only shows the box muffler IIRC.
Good eye Brian, courtesy of your hands-on experience. Preach the word. I had wanted to point this out months ago, but I hate to beat up on somebody else's car, but as they say, it is what it is.
Gotta say it like it is: these are terrible times for a prospective Countach buyer. Quite a few people of the Johnny-Come-Lately variety suddenly popping up selling mediocre Countachs for top-to-insane dollar. Mark my words, this does not bode well for this market. The seller of all these Countachs must have vast long-term hands-on & ownership experience, right? I ask this based on the representation given on the website. I thought I knew all the true players in the business (the good, the bad, & the ugly) and I pride myself in having excellent intelligence as to which car, who, what, where & when, but I never heard of this specialist before so I must be living under a rock here in California.
That's TOny on the other site. Nice guy. Maybe one of the good guys. Sure does look like Roy's car. I don't feel like searching back but I remember it was leaving us. Maybe Tony called Roy and put on his best middle eastern accent and told him it was going overseas via FLA. nah nah nah, just joking around.
Looks like you may be...I dont know about others..but it seems you are not..the last few months telling everyone these CT cars are overpriced..however, there appears to be AT LEAST 2 Dealers, me, (probably the Bad..cause I sure aint ugly LOL) and the other..which to me has been good...that have "Documented sales" of at least 5 cars beyond your "expert" should be selling for price...just saying it how it is...
Tony told me he had an over sea's buyer..maybe fell through, I dont know...but makes no difference to me..sold the car and was happy with what I recieved for it..hope Tony does well with it...and I am sure he will..it was a nice clean Original car..as far as seat belts..they are in a box that went with the car..just were not installed.
