Do you let your kid(s) drive your Ferrari?

I have let them both drive it on their birthdays.. 24 and 21..

 

yes, my daughter can drive it anytime she wants. So can my wife. Whichever car is easiest to get out of the driveway gets driven first.

Its a 360 but its still only a car.

I do put limits on when my daughters boyfriend can drive the car though, rules for him are one of us has to be with him.

 

My dad has let myself (28) and my brother (23 later this month) take his 328 out a couple of times. Of course, he raised us to be respectful of such things, so it was never an issue.

My sister (18) can't drive a stick so she hasn't driven it yet.

 

When I had my 348 I let my oldest daughter drive it, but she was the only licensed child I had at the time. My dad let me drive his 308 and 1986 TR, so I understood that it is something great for a kid to do!

the family can drive any car in the garage... some are anytime drivers... some are not... it's been that way since the kids got their licences... they respect what each car represents and use it accordingly...

 

Don't have children yet.

But anticipate buying them their own cars. As teens.. doubt it. Too much power, too much liability.

As adults.. maybe.

Seems dangerous to me. I'd think it'd be safer in an open parking lot, or even out on the street, but I guess if their car control is good enough,...

 

No i do not let her drive my Ferrari. But... She's almost 3 so maybe next year. JK. Have let the lady drive the 458 with me in it. Will let her drive the FF. F12 Berlinetta when I get it.... Maaaaaybe.

 

I let my oldest (of three) son drive a 250GT SWB to his high school prom. What was I thinking?

 

I don't have any sons, but I have let my daughter drive the Mondial. I told her she could drive it more when she learns to shift better!
I gave the car to my nephew (130 miles away) to take to his high school graduation. I like it and it's nice, but it's just an effing car, after all!

 

I have 2 boys who can drive. I have a 458, 2 Ford GTs and 2 Vipers. They have no interst in any . Just basketball and golf. On the one hand I feel I failed, on the other I feel lucky.

 

I have let at least a hundred friends and associates drive the ferrari cars around the house. I have only let two people drive away without me in the car. One was my brother. The other was my son, to his high scool prom, in a 4700 mile 328 GTS. Again WHAT WAS I THINKING

 

I don't have any kids or Ferraris, but if I did, I would allow them to drive the cars, but only with me in the passenger seat.

 

No kids here but if I did...no. You have to earn nice things.

 

I don't have kids, but if I did, I'm sure I would let them drive anything i owned with me in the car. I love sharing what I have. Anything I own would not be just for me, but for my family to enjoy as well.

When I was growing up, my dad let me drive his cars and it gave me motivation to one day earn them for myself. I hope to pass it on like he did to me.

I trust my daughter with my life if need be she is a Doctor, why not my Ferrari's. Both my wife and daughter have driven and enjoyed the pleasure of our Ferrari's many times. My daughter took the 400i cabriolet to her daughters soccer game with a car seat for my granddaughter. I'm not sure which one was more excited. Can't wait for grandaughter to learn to drive the Ferrari. I've already got her into 1/4 midgets

These cars are ment to be driven , it makes no diffenece which one of the family does the deed. I was at a car show last Saturday and a young fellow was all over the Ferrari. I was about to leave and I asked him if he would like a ride. He jumped at the chance and we headed down the road top down and the exhaust puring. After a short distance I pulled over and told him to slide behind the wheel and take us back to the car show.

The look was priceless and he quickly accepted. He drove about 3 miles back to the car show. I told him to reenter the car show grounds and park it where we started. He was beaming from ear to ear as the folks attending were watching him drive in.

I really enjoy sharing my cars with my family and young folks that are interested.

Absolutely fantastic!

 

I went with my oldest son (17, and learners permit) on a 600 miles NE college tour. He drove about half the distance. He is very good, knowing where the car is in space (video games), and is respectful with the car. We had a good time.

He never told any of his friends......

 

I laughed out loud.

 

My daughter, now a VP Banker, drives mine. When she started, I would need to say speed up. After she understood the car better she started driving faster (she drives a manual 4-speed Dodge truck and I think going 85 in it is a little off the chart). I have not said speed up for a number of years. My son has no interest in the car, but I hope someday maybe after college. How could you have one of these great cars and not share it with everyone you know?

When I see the word 'kid' I take it literally. So Im thinking 15-20.

I also take the original question to imply 'on their own'.

I wouldnt let my 15-20 year old drive my Ferrari on their own. With me in the car...sure.
