I'm slow.. I got only O-rings from my supplier.. who included them knowing I shud do them. I bot pan gaskets to try and eliminate ALL (or some) leaking .. HA! It seems there are other seals and bushings I haven't noticed yet.. ?? Quad?

Can I just remove the shaft (haven't done yet!) .. and replace the O-rings (which I assume are placed in grooves on that shaft? It also seems to me .. that we shud be able to index the shaft connection (like post-er showed with black marker!).. so alignement wud not really be necessary.. ?? I take it these aftermarket seals are optional .. and maybe for later models?? Mine is 1975 308 GT4.

    Thanks, Jim :D

No, the shaft is smooth. The orings fit into the grooves in the transmission. I do no think the GT4 is a candidate for a quad-seal, but I could be wrong. Call or email Verell to find out.

The 75 GT4 is so full of leaks that ... fixing the shift shaft seals should be the least of your problem. Once you conquer that, try the front pulley seals, the distributor shaft seals, the list goes on and on.

    I planned:
    Valve cover gaskets
    Cam seals
    Distributor O-Rings and gaskets
Driver side plate gasket for front cam
    Air pump (rear cam) seal
    Crank seal
    Gearshift shaft O-Rings
    Oil pan
    Gearbox pan

[Plus parts guy gave me some O-Rings between distributor and gearshift shaft seal size.. ??]

I guess I can figure the seal thing when I get in there.. ?

    Thanks, Jim :D

P.S. I plan to seal both sides of all gaskets.. although that wud normally be excessive. I wish there was something I cud seal outer diameter of standard seals to make sure.. One of those (rear most) cam seals appeared to be one culprit, Should they really just sit there without any sealer?? Cud I use HondaBond?

There are 3 more orings between the engine/tranny and the bell housing. Have fun with that retainer ring.

Orings behind the water pump, but that is a big one. Same with the thermostat.

    The AC also has orings.

    I can't remember anything else ...
