I have searched and found little on removing the engine access panel.

Do I really have to remove the seat belts from the pillar ? it looks like I could leave that in place and get the carpet out. Is the seat belt bolt what is holding on that leather side on the car or is there a trick to removing it ?

I read the manual, I don't want to remove the seats, I just want the panel off so I can look at the motor. I have a small coolant leak and I want to check the water pump or what ever hoses I can see there. If I am going to do any work then I will remove the seats.

I will be trying this when I get up in the morning so maybe I will answer my own question but it would be nice to know for sure first. Oh yeah, Modena NOT a Spider

Did this last November for the first time. Seatbelt surrounds pull out. Try to replace he plastic clips that fasten them to the body to eliminate buzz. I just moved passenger seat forward. To leather panel in front of rear window pops out as well. Unscrew the access panels behind seat. Carpet should just pull out.
Check the coolant tubes below the car. Min had loose hose connection the dripped a little coolant. just needed to tighten hose clamp. Hope it only a clamp and not the pump!

Reference the leather panel - how much effort is required to "pull" this out? Is it a straight pull outwards? Are there spring clips or something similar holding this panel in place? A closeup photo would be good. The workshop manual is very vague in this area.

    Many thanks

The leather panel directly under the rear window in front of the firewall.. put your fingers under the lower edge and pull outward. There are 3 plastic clips that old it into the firewall behind seats. It will bend a little, but I found I could put my fingers about 1/2'' beneath it before it "gave" takes some effort. Three clips are about 1-2 inches above the lower edge of the piece, holding it to the firewall.

just to be clear ricambi table 111, #13.

Did you get the speaker box out of the way, or did it just slide out.

With the lower speaker box you might have to remove it to get the carpet or leather on the rear panel out of the way. The carpet or leather piece maybe.. maybe slides out from behind the rear bass speaker.. not sure as mine didn't have it. I presume you remove the speaker to get at the panel.
