Saturday morning started off so very well, up with the sun and rolling outside. Good sudsy wash out in the open, followed by a blowdry and she looked so beautiful, glistening in the morning sun. About that time a young man drove up in a convertible BMW....

Ok.... I washed the 308 Saturday morning and then Duncan arrived, interested in buying my M3 stock exhaust - I installed a ss setup last weekend and he wanted the stock M3 exhaust for his 325. I met him once before when he bought my M3 hardtop, nice young man with his head on straight. Since I was done washing the 308 I need to take her for a little spin to dry everything off and asked him if he wanted to ride. I think he was in the car before I was. It was cool, starting off through the neighborhood talking BMWs - he knows his stuff. But once I got on the road and jumped on the throttle the conversation changed. :D Hopefully I converted him to the Italian way, and I think he enjoyed the ride.

Then later in the afternoon, I drove the 308 to my wife's 25 year high school reunion. I didn't do the driveby up front thing, just found a nice parking spot near the entrance away from most of the parking lot mayhem. This is the 3rd reunion of hers I have been too, and I'm getting to know a lot of the people (never been to one of my own). It was amazing just how fast the rumors percolated through the reunion crowd..."did you see that FERRARI parked outside?" "Is it someone here?" "Hey I think it belongs to Peggy's husband." I was only there about an hour and the cat was out of the bag and everyone knew it was my car.

I had guys asking me in the bathroom if it was mine. Pretty cool to find so many car guys there and even being the "spouse" at a reunion, I had a great time and found lots of people to talk to.

I finally left about 1am and headed for home, wifey stayed at the hotel because she was hanging out with all her buddies. I don't think they hit the sack until about 5am. But driving home that late at night was just fantastic, soft green glow from the instruments, cool midnight air, sound of that V8 rolling behind me. I didn't even push it, just took it easy for the hour's drive home. It did remind me I really need to upgrade the headlights. The US crappers it has right now really suck.

Great Ferrari weekend, lots of good bonding time and miles on the car. Anyone else have a Ferrari weekend?

I took the 328 to a late dinner at The Lodge last night. I sat back and watched the mist settle over Darley North (C.V. Whitney's former Greentree Stud,) from across the street. Nice night for an open car (once the hailstorms passed.)

That is fantastic. I would love to see that car out and about someday. Glad you are driving her the way she was meant to be!

Took my red 456M out for a Sunday drive this afternoon... AND WAS PASSED BY A COUPLE IN A BLACK 599! Lots of smiles and thumbs up.

Ferraris add so much to our lives.

    Cheers,

Pics or it didn't happen :)

How'd it go? Did a bunch of people flock to you at the gas station or try to follow you on the highway? I'm sure you had a blast.

Took the 400i out for a nice drive to nowhere in Connecticut this morning. Considering that the local Caffeine and Carburetors gatherings (see the NE section) see turnouts of up to 300 interesting cars, motorcycles and trucks, I am always amazed and disappointed at how few interesting cars I see on the roads when I am out enjoying the nice weather.

I was only out for about an hour this morning and didn't see anyone else enjoying their interesting cars. What a shame!

We few. We lucky few. We band of brothers... Oh wait, that's the St. Crispin's Day speech.

Seriously, you get it. You have a race-bred Ferrari, and you enjoy it. That's what it's all about.

On my death bed, I hope I smile remembering how many pointless and entirely irresponsible miles I put on Ferrari's. :D

    Cheers,

    George

Nice. What are the odds of a fellow fchatter spotting you?
Good for you for driving it and for everyone else who drives their ferraris. These cars are too great to just look at them and not enjoy the performance/sound/passion of the car.

It is odd because I have only been up to that town once or twice before. Obviously, I need to get out of the city a bit more.

I'm glad you had some nice weather to enjoy your car.

I finally washed mine after weeks because of all the rain lately. I leave home with the wife on Saturday nite and it pours 10 minutes into the trip. It didn't stop until this morning. I planned on a pool party yesterday. Another weekend washed away. I feel like we are living in the rain forest this year.
