Qingdao has dead nite life. Really. We were there to look at our Marina Bay condo last month. Over at Huang Dao. Our local partner arranged some secluded private club for us to go for post dinner drinks. Hush hush type cos of the local gov clamp down on ktvs and such. I went in for 20mins and we all left after that. Cannot compared to Beijing or Shanghai. Guys all ended up at their famous spa..Zai Shui Yi Fang. Opened 24 hrs. Its a converted villa in high end area. Nice. Are you still looking to open an outlet there? Lately have been hanging out at the top floor club where Ritz Carlton Pudong is. Not so commercialised but end result still the same...RMB rules! Planning this trip to visit the area where Hotel Indigo opened. And check out the bar at Fairmont Peace hotel..was told by a client lots of atmosphere there. Also House of Roosevelt along the upper Bund area. All art deco buildings.
Looks like it's a day trip for Qingdao. The current mall is upgrading with a phase 2 and MixC is also opening up soon. Both have approach my company. Heard biz in Qingdao is so so only. So if the terms and location proposed are good than i may go for it. Most of these drinking places you are talking about don't have a lot of single syt. Have not been to the Ritz at night, you are talking about independent SYT working there?
Qingdao strikes me as family living. A bit sleepy. The high end malls there not really doing great either. Nope...not many single syts at those places I mentioned. More for a night out with friends who BFM ... Bring For Me..! I am sure you know all the hot joints in Shanghai...the scene quite good on thursdays.

Just back from Italy and things is really tough there. Heard from my friend that consumption of petrol is down 20% year on year. A lot less people are driving.
Were the signs visible from your observations on the streets? Stores on sale/shuttered? People not buying? Interesting to note that Marc Faber said he sees no recession on the streets of Spain as he toured the country. But the bond markets obviously think otherwise.
