    That recovery effort was an exercise in a disciplinary vacuum. To taxi an airplane on such an uneven surface with an open barrel of fuel next to a running APU is utterly foolish.

    When watching it my reaction was, " why wouldn't you seal that off?" Could they have prevented this from happening?

    If I recall the TV program, one of their mechanics lost his life due to medical issues from exposure while working on the plane.

    I remember thinking at the time that while it was tragic, that thing catching on fire like it did before he got it up to speed might actually have saved Greenamyer's life.
