You may certainly be right, however I'm wondering about it, too. With US$843 Million amassed, as well as living on a private caribbean island, he still gets frustrated when his car is underperforming. Having tasted a podium again, I see another year for Michael, and think he wants it badly.

 

In other words he has 3 races left to base his decision on:
Silverstone, Germany and Budapest

 

i wonder if this is more a Mercedes or Michael decision, behind the scenes.

 

Is this perhaps a time stalling device to see what happens with Berniegate?

MS was demotivated by his luck and terrible reliability of the car. However, last weekend's race has spurned him a lot.

No one can deny his terrible luck this season, and depending how you look at it, he's only made one mistake the whole season (Barcelona). If he has a few more competitive races I'm sure he'll stay.

 

I fear that his luck this season means I now owe Andreas a case of beer.

However, I do hope Michael gives it another season with Mercedes. When his car hasn't failed him, he has driven fairly well.

Agree. I think that MB can look at the seasons results and see that it's not MS holding the team back. It will probably be more of an MS decision, and I think he'll go for another year.

Warwick is spot on. I said that all along. They should have black flagged MS for that.

 

Probably he´s right, but Rosberg, Webber and others have done the same thing without getting a slap in the hand, so...

Many drivers do bad things and I normally don't have an issue with it, but squeezing your opponent into the concrete wall, that's MS' speciality. He did it once to his brother in Germany (of all places) but he never in his entire career was as ruthless and brutal as with Rubens in Hungary.

More than that: Blocked for a few races.

It has happened to MS before. Although there it was solely for political reasons and not his fault.


In general I'm not a fan of the FIA handing out penalties for driver behavior on the track. Too much policing restricts the drivers to the point that they don't risk anything anymore. But the squeeze against Rubens was unnecessary roughness. Particularly since he had nowhere to go. I was also shocked to see MS willing to risk their both lives like that and I wouldn't be surprised if Ms MS saw it that way too.

 

yes...you'd THINK that when he said banned he meant more than just the rest of that particular race.

I don't think MS thought there was any chance either of them were going to die from that move....he doesn't seem the suicidal type.

Still, MS started moving over well before RB got next to him....so some might say RB could have always elected to back off.

If he pushed BAR into the wall we would have seen a spectacular crash. He had 30cm to spare. Everyone please stop *****ing, we've seen cars following each other that close before (under braking). They didn't touch. End off. Please go back to knitting if racing isn't your thing (goes for everyone)

 

That really wasnt 2 cars just following around. Watch the video. I love racing and dont need to prove my manhood to you or anyone here. That was out of line and needless. Period.

I didnt miss MS the first time he left and I wont this time in about 6 weeks. He isnt curing cancer or anything. He races. Wow......as if he is the only person who has ever won a race. He's fallable and frankly not what he was and that little incident is the epitome of how far F1 has come ...without him.

 

Ol' Michael didn't look too shabby this morning.

 

Fastest at Monaco and 3rd in extreme conditions. I don't know what that says, but it must say something!

 

Says he was first before penalty and 3rd in changing conditions......never been done before ??
