I've had a request to print out a couple of my photos to 8x10s. Plus I have one or two that I'd like to have in poster size. Locally, my options are only Walmart and Walgreen's. Can anyone recommend an online printing service that you have used and are satisfied with?

    Thanks in advance.

I've had pretty good luck with Kodak Gallery, but they have been taken over by Shutterfly as part of Kodak's Chapter 11 restructuring (as of yesterday). I have not tried Shutterfly yet.

I've had very good results with www.whcc.com - fully calibrated printing with
    very professional results. Reasonable prices.

Anyone got good sources for other professional services like large format printing or nice prints on mounted canvas, for example?

Where do local type "professional" photographers typically get their stuff printed?

Go with mpix, I use mpix pro for my prints and they're great, lots of print options as well.

It's fun to watch them come out of your own printer. My Epson 3880 does 17" by 32". You can play with different papers for different effects. Immediate do overs if you don't like. Next step up to 36" wide gets expensive.

No doubt. I have an Epson 1700. Biggest I can do is 13X19 I believe, and no thick papers, but I much prefer printing my own stuff.

They do; that's where I first heard of them ;)
