After a conversation with friends about what be my next F car , I told them that I may not seek another Ferrari because my true passion is muscle cars. Plus growing in the 70s and Corvette being the pinnacle of cars then, I've always wanted a Corvette. I said I could sell the Ferrari and have few regrets.

Aside from bad experiences, how anyone sold their car and had no regrets . And enjoyed their new toy just as much ?

Are you saying you sold your car, or just that you wouldn't regret if you did?

I have a 308 QV which I have had for 10 years. I want a 360 spider. Do I buy now which means I have to sell the 308, or wait a year or two, and can afford both? I have a feeling I will regret selling the 308, especially seeing as when I got her she was fairly ratty and I went on to win three times in the 308 class at concours. She is part of the family.

I would think that going from a Ferrari to a Vette, you will end up missing the Ferrari. Can you swing both?

Had 348 Spider - loved it but wanted another car. I sold it for a Porsche TT. Really liked it, but not loved it. Fast and fun but too clinical for me. Bought 348 Serie Speciale to get back the "grit" of driving. I am not looking back.

Had lots of Vettes and really like them. Will prolly go back sometime. Either a C6 Z06 or a C2 retrorod fastback. I like the idea of a "Chevy Shelby". Saw one once - 1964 FI 383 side pipes, modern suspension/brakes, flared fenders, midnight blue metallic, it was awesome.

Now am considering vintage BMWs as collector cars that I can race around. Lots of choices.

Point is, yes you may have regrets from time to time, but life is too short. Enjoy as many marques as you wish. You can always have a couple of different ones at the same time and switch them out for new experience. Just keep your investment in them tolerable. My tolerence level is cheap. Others are high buck. To each his own.

    Enjoy!

I'd drive a 456/550/575 and then decide if it's not muscle car enough or better than the Corvette... I'm betting you can satisfy both passions...

    Just a thought...

I've got about 1-2 years left before I move on. I love the car every time I drive it but I just don't drive it enough. I'm also ready for another convertible so I'll be searching for a good used late Jaguar XKR with low mileage. Something I could drive every day rain/snow or shine. I'll also be able to fit 2 golf bags so my bride can come along. So time will tell and I'll most likely put it up for sale in the spring. I will miss the brand but I can always look back and say I had one.

Look at the V12 GTs and then decide. Room for sweetheart and golf clubs. Both worlds.

If you have always wanted a Vette then good god man buy the car! Get that car that you have always want and pined for. Life is too short.

If you regret the fcar then trade it and get another. I know how powerful those childhood aspirations are, and how good you feel when they come true!

I used to think no car on earth could be better than my 928...

    but the 360 is. :)

In the past I would have said I would never sell the Dino. However, with prices getting as crazy as they have of late it gets one thinking. I could almost turn it into a Ghibli and an E-Type. I know, though, that I would regret seeing the Dino go.

I wanted a vette and got one. But what I found is that I have been spoiled by the quality and precision of Porsches & Benz's (not to mention the Ferrari) and the Vette fell short. I ended up bothered by the rattles, squeaks and handling characteristics. Sold the Vette (for a profit mind you) and do not need to do it again. Glad I did though.

I have plenty of friends with them & that suits me fine. Remember I actually bought one, so I was a fan (and still am, just not an owner).

I will say that parts are sure cheap. I remember ordering up a load of NOS stuff to bolt on and I was blown away with how many boxes & boxes say $500 bought me. $500 on my Stradale will get me one very small box (with a little horse on it).

Anyhow, enjoy them all. So little time, so many cars...

Man that was a quick cycle through Ferraris!!!

In any case man, they are cars. If you are like some of the guys on this site, they go through them like underwear. You wouldn't be alone, and certain corvette's are really cool.

Each car I own is a very personal decision and personal relationship. Some people are not like that...nothing wrong with it, just a different perspective. I never thought you would like the 360 when you sold the 348, but I went older, you went newer. The newer cars are cool too but very different from older Ferraris.

Looking back over my 10 years of fun car ownership (not counting family cars, off roaders, etc.), I have dumped 2 360's, 1 430, a Maser Spyder, an E46 M3 vert, and a Cayman S.

I am currently Ferrari-less, and the only car above that I miss a little is my first 360, because it was my first Ferrari.

I had a Vette as well. I sold it to buy a Porsche, then I sold the Porsche to buy the 2004 Ferrari 360. There is no comparison in fun factor. The Ferrari trumps them by far! The vette had numb steering, chassis flex, rattles etc. The Porsche had great steering, but lacked power (Boxster S). The Ferrari satisfies me for now. It has great steering, a rigid chassis, and decent power. I am won over by it. If I sold, I think it would be to get a newer model Ferrari. I am really loving this car. I have to admit though, I haven't had the privilege to pay for any maintenance or repairs yet. I can see how that may aggravate someone after seeing the bill. I am also in the honeymoon stage with the car. Ask me in a year or two how I feel?

I sold my 6 speed f430 few weeks back and got a cams heads 570 hp modded c5zo6 for track only. I love the corvette , my first american car. V8 muscle rawness and feel is awesome.

Its fanstastic and cheap for trackday fun. I also had a 2011 gt3. This vette is 150 hp more and almost 70 percent gt3 on track. When i get the suspension done on Z06 it will be one hell of a track car.

I do miss my ferrari , i will get a italia next year. Until then vette is keeping me happy at the track. No regrets. True american icon and an eye opener. I am just amazed at the performance for the money.

    Prior cars 911 turbo gt3 f430 e46 m3 335i etc...

Sold my 1996 Red/Black F355 F1 GTS in 2005. Bought pre-owned in 2000. Had to go back to Illinois to sell my business and figured it would take 5 years when I would be 65. the thought of the Fcar just sitting for 5 years made no sense so I sold it.

The business was sold in less than a year. My current red/black 360 F1 Spider was sitting on the showroom floor which I bought on the way driving home.

No regrets. the 360 has been a much better car for me.

    Life is good.
Life is better driving a 360.

Hope some day to get a 458 Spider...too old to wait 4 years for a slot.
