I saw them all in person and they were very nice. I preferred the other two though.

I'd rather have a Strada anyway. Go figure right?

I got to judge all of them in 2004 at Concorso and they are all beyond amazing. I would have to say if there was one car that I could own, Cost not and option it would be the Bizzarrini Spyder.

I remember seeing it in Road & Track several decades ago but got the
impression it was a pushmobile, maybe not with a real chassis. Does it
have a complete Bizzarrini GT5300 chassis? If not who made the chassis?
Why is the car higher than the two other targa Bizzarrinis? Also how do you handle
the headlights if you want to blink them? It looks like you have to

    stop the car
    take the covers off
    then blink them

I looked at the website but didn't get much of an idea of what happened to the car between the time it was in Road & Track and when Sassak bought it. Did it go through a few hands? I admire the Sassak family's tenacity. I tried to make an offer on one of the targas around 1966 and even then he didn't want to sell it. Now the time he has devoted to the cars has paid off.

Forgot to add design critique comments on the spyder (I was at one time even asked to lecture at Art Center on design so think I know something about it...)

-The side vent is great, I think it was used on another giugiaro design maybe the 230S, and it's not so sturm-und-drang as the one of the GT5300 strada.

-the tiny chrome around the grille inlets is superflous and detracts from the macho look of the other two cars. And even reminds me of Studebaker!

-the Fiat 850 front turn signals on the targas is more Bizzarrini than on this silver car

--the hood line seems about 4"-6" taller than the targas. See no reason for this
with the sideways carburetors lowering engine profile

-Who had the center pull Weber manifold first? Corvette with the Grand Sport or Iso with the Corsa A3C raced at LeMans? Was Duntov copying Bizzarrini or the other way around?

I think if you took a Pontiac Solstice and stretched it, you'd have this car. Did Giugiaro ever comment on it?
