I have done all the exhaust on my 04 spider. Fab speed headers, sport cell 200 cats, Tubi muffler and tips. Full ECU re-tune and many other things. The rails are NOT necessary, they provide pre-cat helping for a few seconds at start. NO difference removed. I have never had a cell and the car sounds amazing. Install the shields as supplied and do the obvious while its all exposed. Any questions PM me.

I just placed my order with Bigdaddy for their O2 extenders.
I really hope they do the trick and stop the CEL.
    Thanks!!!

I'm very interested to see if they work as well. I PM'd cycling peaks to see how many miles have been clocked without the cel as that's the proof in the pudding if you will.

The standard size from Big Daddies- "mini-Cat" is made to fit on your 360/430, etc o2 sensors.
I believe it's 18mm, but the one from Big daddie fits it perfectly.

Only second drive on it today, so now about 100 miles and no CEL and both were very 'spirited'. The previous CEL came on 3rd drive, but it was the first spirited drive, so I am feeling highly confident that this is the fix.

Oh, after you install(or during the install), remember to turn the battery off for 5-10 minutes, so it clears the code. You can also clear with a OB2 reader. All you'll need is a 23mm wrench. Sawweet!

Found this on another forum, read the last posts. Seems to be promising? Or of 7 forums of various vehicle ranging from rx8, Lotus, WRX and others all with good results.

Here's hoping that this is the solution!

I think I'll try these. I already bought the o2 extenders (not installed yet). Do you think I should use both the o2 extenders AND the Big Daddy mini Cats, or should I return the o2 extenders and just use the mini cats?

I have Fab speed headers, Fab speed sportcats and Tubi exhaust. I have not had one issue with heat or sensors. The sound is awesome especially under full song and hp gain is very good. I would wait on reflashing because u may have what u are looking for. Your existing pipes should work find with the headers and sportcats.

Do you have high flow sports cats or test pipes with your Fabspeed headers ... or just Fabspeed headers?
I'm thinking about changing my stock headers on my 430 and just wondering if it's the headers or high flow cats/test pipes that are causing your CEL.
    Thank you.

I have headers, high flow sport cats and muffler. Everything is fabspeed. I have no test pips. I think CEL comes on because fabspeed headers have no cats inside. As you know oem headers have cats inside. I might be wrong with this but I don't really know why sports cats can cause this problem.

Gents, what is the difference between mini cat cel and straight cat CEL?

Just the catless headers OR the sport cats should keep your CEL off. The combination of both will increase the chances. However, our headers and sportcats should work fine with a set of 90 degree o2 spacers. Furthermore, HJS (our catalyst supplier) has told us about a new spec (5th generation) cat that should work in all Ferrari's (355, 360, 430, 458, Cali) without getting a CEL. I should have more information soon. Let me know if you have any questions.

It's not uncommon as the sport cats usually do throw a cel. as the O2 sensors are sensitive. You're either going to play the O2 extender game or just reflash get the 25hp and 18torque gain with wider parameters for the O2 sensor.

No getting around it as the only sport cats that don't throw cel(s) are Hyperflow. No disrespect to Fabspeed and others as I've run the fabspeed pructs on my 997 TT and was very happy.

    Hi Temuri,

I agree with David above in that the o2 spacers will probably do the trick for you. The ECU upgrade is great, but costs a lot more. Our sportcats by themselves should not trigger a CEL... it is the combination of headers and sport cats that cause most of the issues. Someone earlier in this thread mentioned they had a CEL with Fabspeed headers and Hyperflow. I am hoping that our newest cats by HJS (that we will be getting soon) will not cause a CEL in conjunction with catless headers. The o2 sensor extenders are the easiest fix though. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks!

Any news from Peaks on how the Big Daddy's MiniCats worked out? I'm curious to see if that was indeed a solution to the cel from sport cats or test pipes?

Next week my BigDaddy mini CATS should arrive and I will install them right away, clear the CEL and go for a good long ride to work this horse and see what, if any CEL show up.

    To be continued:

I installed the Mini CATS two days ago and I am working on putting on miles. Tomorrow I have a long drive planned (taking two bad Battery Tenders to their Corp. office) and will be getting very close to three hundred miles. I hope I don't jinx this, but so far no CEL. Fingers crossed!!!

I just back from today's long drive with several stops, some WOT, highway and secondary roads. I am good for 300 miles with no CEL!!!! I will be doing another good drive This Friday that will add another 80/90 miles. I will be keeping an eye out for the CEL just in case. However, I am confident that bigdaddiesgarage.com Mini-CATS solved my issue with the new exhaust system for my 2001 360 six speed:

    Agency Power Headers, JetHot coated
    Kinetix High Flow CATS
    FabSpeed Muffler & Tips

    Me, just a happy customer.
I hope others who try the Mini-CATS have similar results!!!!!!

Follow up after today's long drive on highway (100+ mph for a number of miles), slower secondary roads, and some stop and go town roads.

No CEL!!!!!!!! I think all is good and correct in the world.

    +1 for bigdaddiesgarage Mini-CATS O2 sensor spacers

That's great to hear as mine are on the car as well and it'd be nice to be rid of that! I'll keep everyone posted to my results.

What was the code you were getting when you'd get the cel and what exhaust setup do you have ie: sport cats, test pipes?
